alice didn’t eat home cooked meals all that often. eating whatever’s been served to her became her way of life at the academy and when she had to fend for herself she opted for takeout or something hard to burn. admitting her cooking skills were lacking was not something she intended to do in front of just anyone. especially when her self proclaimed spectacular baking skills kept up the illusion that she was capable of surviving on her own.

I’ve been living alone for...” He hesitated, thinking about it for a moment. “Over twenty years, at least. You kinda get sick of eating frozen meals after a while.” He’d almost said thirty, but he hadn’t really started cooking for himself until after he’d formally separated from his ex-wife.
