When i think of you, I feel at home
When I think of you, I see: Lilacs and honeysuckles sweet, croquet and soft ball, dirty bare feet; games of badminton and pick-up-sticks, hide-and-seek in the woods, and magic tricks. Instant ice-teas and lemonades, family BBQs on warm summer days; sunshine reflection and shared smiles swimming in cold water that falls for miles. Sleeping bags and crowded campsites, the sky littered with stars – nature’s night light; apple orchards and hot cider, marshmallow s’mores and long-legged spiders; Leaves falling of yellows and reds, steep rocky mountainsides, snowfalls and sleds; angel wings and men wearing hats, holiday parties and long winter naps.

Its Different...
The day you left was the day my heart left with you. It was not broken, it was not shattered into tiny bits for everyone else to see. I just woke up, and it was gone with you. Since then, I’d get up each morning and try to use that empty space inside my chest to write something, anything, and nothing ever comes out. I used to write sad pieces all the time. I used to let people know how a broken heart feels like and how tough it is to find yourself feeling so alone in the middle of the night. I have experienced this so many times, but it feels so new. It feels so different with you. Like the words I would always cling to, I held on to you even if it was already starting to hurt. I try to write again. My mind wanders and all I could think about is you and how much of myself I have lost since I lost you. I’d try to write again, but I leave everything there. Everything, unfinished. Everything, painful.
The truth? You had nothing to do with anything that happened. You’ve been absent this entire time. How am I to know what’s real and what’s not? Others only told me I’ve lost my chance, move on. That’s exactly what I’ve done, what I always did. I won’t go looking for you, you won’t go looking for me. The signs I’ve got should be pulling me in another direction, but my spirit has been trampled to the point that I don’t even recognize it anymore. Dreams or delusions? Manic or panic? What’s the difference? I’ve said my piece, done my part. If you wish to see me again, you know how to get to me. No strings attached, no hidden agendas. No pressure, no games. Just you and I, figuring out our part…

Guilt..
When you’re so used to doing nothing wrong,
you misplace your defense mechanisms.
The ones that make you strong.
When you’re so used to doing only right,
you misplace the fight.

But really its just the guilt,
making me feel like I’ve lost my mind….
Clean Enough...
As the warmness blends my skin i get mild chills at my back. The soothing water drips over me ripples my body in assymetry. As i hold the wall and submerge i get in my subconscious again. The very empty state of me brings you back in my head. And so the flowing water appears magnified as every detail of you is magnified. It runs over and over in my head as i hear your last sentence loud enough. I turn away but the voice is intense. I turn off the nob and open my eyes...its gone. Water dripping through my uncovered body...wish i cud wash you away like this...
