Steve adapts to having the sturdiness of a tree because Eddie is koala coded and likes to jump up and cling all four limbs around him at any given moment. Steve doesn’t even react to it anymore but Robin’s gonna lose her mind if she has to watch Eddie climb Steve like a tree again while he acts like it’s totally normal. They’re not dating yet.

no, he's not a monster, he's not a were creature, he's not anything supernatural

he's just a mundane, normal greyish brown tabby that's exceptionally fluffy

at first he's freaking out bc he's a fucking cat! and he's trying to find dustin (let's say this is after starcourt and the Russian serum does not mix well with the upside down bullshit idk) but instead he gets picked up by wayne munson of all ppl

and Wayne, who's always had a way with animals is able to calm steve down long enough to let the adrenaline fade away and ooh, that scratch behind the ear feels good ok maybe a nap is needed after the shit holiday he just had, steve can solve his problem tomorrow

but then he wakes up in a trailer he doesn't recognize but he does recognize eddie the freak who's cuddling him and pampering him and calling him sweet boy and wow alright this is nice actually, eddie and Wayne are really nice, the trailer is small but warm and homey, they give him human food and let him sleep in their beds at night and give him all the hugs and scritches he wants
