My dad is getting interred across the country so I've been carrying his ashes thru various modes of transport and terminals for the last 11 hours with 3 more to go. Dad as literal emotional baggage is a bit of a heavy-handed metaphor, but I do fondly admire his commitment to being an unintentional minor annoyance from beyond the grave.

I'm doing a 2-4am weekly show at my local college radio station for the summer to help out since they had some programming gaps and a recent listener review said that "it really made me think about what's music." I'm not 100% sure that's a compliment, but I'll take it.

#i haven't been on air in nearly 7 years and had forgotten how much fun it is #even if being up all night working and then going to regular work in the morning is so much harder in 30s than it was at 22 #and I love the excuse to walk the streets when they're completely empty #with only me and the singing of the night birds

#why have i not covered everything in polka dots

A stray cat (that's been living in the back yard sometimes) snuck inside after I left the door ajar. I've been meaning to trap them though in order to get them checked out at the vet, so it seemed like a wonderful idea to close the door behind them.

I had not considered the step 2??? of the plan where now there's a semi-feral cat just...on the loose. Flea covered? Wormy? Fixed? Litter box trained? Who knows. But they are uncatchably fast and lurking about in all corners.

#i'm like 95% sure i've isolated them into a room #but that is mainly hope and guesswork #but don't want to let them outside again without a vet visit since they're never going to let me near them again after this adventure

Saturn's north pole !

The hexagon is nearly 30,000 km (20,000 miles) wide. This is large enough that two Earths could fit inside the storm with room to spare.

It is a standing atmospheric wave created by a powerful jet stream that wraps around the pole. Winds along its edges can exceed 300 km/h (about 220 mph).

At the very center of the hexagon lies a deep, dark polar vortex that extends hundreds of kilometers down into Saturn's atmosphere.

#10:30 timestamp is crazy with Oram hand drawing the sound waves on glass plates and putting them into the machine which is so cool #and second best is 7:30 with the imaginary medieval instruments which is hilarious and delightful
