Newest poster for @ricochettacos! This is the #instagram post version because I haven't been able to snag a pic of the actual poster. I started designing this using these colors to block out shapes and ended up loving the fun/weird mix! #colorcolorcolor #weirdshit #ricochettacos #danajlong #graphicdesign #marketing #adobeindesign #adobeillustrator https://www.instagram.com/p/B1g-p4kA4Ke/?igshid=1f27t79s7tnt

EVERYTHING GOES NUMB 15 YEAR ANNIVERSARY ALBUM TOUR ANNOUNCED! So it’s no secret we had an absolute blast last year on the SITB album Anniversary tour, and what do you know, this year is also an album anniversary year (I guess technically every year is every albums anniversary to some degree, but stop overthinking things, ya nerd). So today we announce the Everything Goes Numb 15 Year Anniversary Tour! Every night (with the exception of the 4 Keasbey Nights Album Shows), we’ll be playing our first album, the one that started this entire mess back in 2003, from first song to last song, with a few extra bonus songs thrown in for good measure (and because we decided to never play a set without Blondle Lead The Blind again after last year). Below are the dates, which more or less wraps up our 2018 (please note the two night back to backers in Denver and Sayreville ;-) Tickets on sale this Friday, March 16th! 1.20.18 | Brendan Kelly Acoustic at 18th Street Brewery
I went with a couple friends to this show, we drank beers and pretty much talked through the other sets (sorry for being those people.) I was stoked to see Brendan Kelly play and the show being so close to home was a huge plus. His set was great, he played my favorite falcon song so that was sick. But the really fucking cool part came after his set.
For those of you that don’t know, I am a HUGE Lawrence Arms fan, so much so that I have this vest with big ole Lawrence Arms backpatch. This vest has been referred to as my “pride & joy” and yeah, I can see that. It is my first vest and I worked hard to coordinate the patches on it. I wear this vest to every.single.show I go to for The Lawrence Arms and The Falcon and obviously wore it to this show. No one EVER asks me about my vest which I’m a little annoyed about because it is SO GOOD. But this day was different....someone DID ask about my vest AND they asked to take a photo...and they were BRENDAN FUCKING KELLY.
Brendan Kelly asked ME to take a photo. I died. I am still dead. I’m writing this from beyond the grave.
We took a few photos and then my friends and I actually hung out with Brendan (first name basis now, nbd) for 20 or so minutes just talking outside. He is just such a down to earth guy, super chill, very funny and intelligent, which many people don’t see beyond the drunken stage antics. This night was super cool, I was flying high, it was just all over good.
THEN.
Brendan fucking Kelly posted my vest on his instagram and he was so humbled that his band had been honored in this way? Like WHAT? I am honored??? This whole interaction has been kind of surreal in the coolest fucking way. Chicago punk rock, man, it rules.

2017 | Shows in Review
These are pretty much in chronological order, yay!
First Show: The Menzingers at The Metro
A Memorable Show: The Teenage Bottlerocket matinee show after the War on Xmas and The Interrupters stand out because they were just SO.FUN. There were kids at the Teenage Bottlerocket show and everyone was just having a good time. And we skanked at The Interrupters so like hell yeah! 🕴️
Least favorite show? Dinasaur Jr. & Built to Spill at The Bottom Lounge (Riot Fest after show)... So god damn boring
Did you fight someone? I saw The Lawrence Arms at the House of Vans and my friend and I were in the pit (#postsfromthepit), this dude yelled "no pushing" and punched me square in the jaw, then disappeared. Dispite that the show ruled.
Did you see a band for the first time? PUP and their show was FANTASTIC. M.I.A., too. She was amazing.
A chronological list of shows below!
2016 | Shows in Review
First Show: American Nightmare at the Double Door. RIP 🙏
A Memorable Show: A show that stands out... And makes me cringe from 2016 was The Copyrights at The Cobra Lounge; I was there alone for a couple hours, my ex showed up, and then my current boyfriend showed up, needless to say I got hammered and that night, except for the lingering cringeyness, was erased.
Least favorite show? The Misfits. FIGHT ME.
Did you fight someone? On the 2nd night of TLA's War on Xmas a dude grabbed my arm in some kind of hold(?) and I sprayed beer in his face until he stopped. That was weird and I don't know why it happened? But I met some cool girls this night, they had my back and I've hung with them at shows since! So fuck that guy, basically!
Did you see a band for the first time? A few actually! American Nightmare. The Sounds. Smoking Popes. The Hives. Juliette Lewis & The Licks. The Bollweevils. The Bronx.
A definitely not chronological list of shows below.
1.13.18 | Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution at the Beacon Theatre
My first show of 2018, my first time in New York and my first post!
One thing to make clear right of the bat is that Streetlight Manifesto has been my favorite band for many, many years. When this show was announced, I KNEW I had to make it happen. And to my luck, everything fell into place perfectly; airfare was cheap, easily booked an airbnb and snagged tickets right away.
Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution is Streetlight Manifesto, you guessed it, acoustic. This show was Bandits plus a FORTY PIECE ORCHESTRA. WHAT?! Yes. Amazing. Long story short, this show KILLED ME. DEAD. We laughed, we cried, we maybe thought we were having a heart attack. (We being the entire collective crowd.) It. was. that. good. This show was honestly everything I hoped for and more.
Streetlight’s music always has a calming effect on me, but to hear their music along with violins? Wow. I never thought I’d hear anything so visceral. It hit me straight in the heart and I relive that feeling each time I watch the videos.
I am so glad I took a chance and flew to a new city to see this show. It was one of the most meaningful nights of my life and I’m so glad my partner was there to experience it with me.
Well, that’s it! Not the strongest first post in history, but I honestly was so wrapped up in the night, it was all a whirlwind. (and I forgot I wanted to do this blog... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )
I will now bid you farewell with the unexpected show stealer... PIANO GUY!
I lied. Here’s a bonus video.
