Potentially Good Advice

We live in a social media world. Remember you can’t control others and their thoughts. You can limit people’s access to the virtual window into your life. Their is always a risk vs reward when posting on social media. You risk people having a negative response to your post. The reward is a positive response. The unknown is when people see your post but don’t publicly react to it. Don’t let others negative reactions effect your day. They can have their own opinions that doesn’t mean yours are invalid.

The saying goes you can lead a horse to water... It definitely holds truth you can give advice to others but you can’t force people to follow it. Advice is one of those things that people have to be willing to listen. Don’t be put down if someone doesn’t follow your advice. Move forward with the knowledge that you gave them your input and that’s all you can do.

Grief can be an extremely hard and long process. Taxing both mental and physically. No one experiences it the same. Remember it’s okay to not be okay, just work through the emotions in a healthy manner. You will cope in your own way making the day to day life easier. The pain will never go away but the acceptance will allow you to find closure.

Happiness is such an abstract concept. Happiness and how to obtain it varies based on the person. People always say “do what makes you happy” but some find it hard to figure out what to “do” to make them happy. Maybe we should start with doing things that make us comfortable, then gradually work towards the concept of happiness. Love yourself, be comfortable with who you are, then maybe the abstract idea of happiness will cloak you.

Being the best you requires constant effort and learning. People may pretend on social media that life is super easy for them but don’t be fooled. You just didn’t see the other side of the camera, they struggle with things in life too. Don’t be ashamed of your struggle. Whatever you are going through will pass. It may take time and effort to for it to pass by but it will pass. So never stop learning and building yourself up.

Hey!! I might be baby sitting a 1st grade age girl on Saturday from 1:30 to 5. Im a teenager (all you need to know is that I cant drive) and this would be my first time doing anything like this and I really need some advice!! So please reblog this with some advice. I want to make sure im not boring her but also being responsible! I feel like that's something I can do but I'd like to be as prepared as possible

Since I don’t know the scope of the situation like how well you know her, where you are babysitting at, or what responsibilities have been asked of you I’m just going to write some vague advice on what I suggest.

You have a handful of options. Personally I have 4 nieces currently ages 11-16. When I watch them I try to gear my activities for their interests. I try to be active in whatever they like to do . Which sometimes seems embarrassing but I remind myself that they probably are not embarrassed by me and even if they are we can have something to laugh about.

If you are watching her at her house then this makes it easy. Have her show you what she’s interested in. Be willing to listen and ask questions. If it’s dolls she interested in then play with her, if it’s a game have her show you how to play. Be involved and the time will fly by. I think you can accomplish not being boring while being responsible easy in this manner.

Even though this is your first time babysitting I think you’ll do fine. 😁
