A Prayer for Pride

My sacred Ladies, I come before you,

A woman grown in a lesbian home

And I pray for the well-being of women loving women.

My sacred Lords, I come before you

As you embrace and love across cultures

And I pray for the well-being of men loving men.

My sacred Loves, I come before you,

Child of a bisexual parent,

Parent of a bisexual child,

And I pray for the well-being of those loving more than a single gender.

Single gendered, I come before Sacred Ones of all genders and of none,

And I pray for the well-being of those who cross boundaries, who re-define what we are as human beings.

I come before all beings here.

I can not know your journeys,

I can not know your fears,

I can not know your pain,

I can not know your joys,

I am not as you.

But I stand beside you in love and respect,

I stand beside you in Pride!

Latest scarf/shawl finished. Hand woven using handspun yarns including some core spun near the ends for added texture. I left the fringe fairly long because it's a lovely soft yarn to play with 😊

Finally got the ends on this one trimmed. Weft yarns spun from recycled wool and sari silk. Project uses a coded warp.

A new experiment in coded weaving. The code is in the warp threads which I accidentally doubled so what was meant to be a scarf width is more like a shawl. The thicker yarn being used is handspun from recycled fibres, 60% recycled wool and 40% recycled sari silk.

Experiment in coded weaving now complete. Central section of the warp for this scarf is coded as is the weft pattern. Central section of warp and all the weft is handspun yarn.

The making of plum jam. First time I've tried making jam and it's worked out ok. Not the firmest set but a great flavour.

"Scone" from @sealymacwheely Alba collection, a blend of BFL, Shetland and Grey Alpaca and "Reflections" which is Cormo wool. Really enjoyed spinning both of these 😊

Each year sometime in late July when the grasses have gone to seed and the lavender is ready for harvesting I cut some grasses and the first of my lavender harvest. The old offerings are given back to the land. The newly cut grasses and a bit of the lavender goes into a vase on my altar, the rest of the first lavender cut is tied in a bundle and placed on my ancestral shrine. As I do this I reflect on my harvests of the last year and it's been a mixed one.

Beginning an experiment with coded weaving. The central section of the warp is coded and I'm going to be weaving the weft in a coded pattern too. If this works it'll be the first of a series of similar coded weavings.

A couple of months ago I started a new weaving project. As it was to be surprise I couldn't post any pictures but yesterday I got to pass this baby blanket on. I used 100% cotton chenille yarn for this so it would be soft but should also be easily washable.

I’ll be going into this morning to process orders despite it being Sunday as I will be leaving tomorrow for a week at a conference in Durham.
