She and her teenage son are making homemade jam together. And after the Magnolia magnate shared a video of the process, her fans are hoping to see this sweet bonding moment become a new series.

The mom of five took to Instagram on Friday to share a beautiful day she recently spent with her teenage son making and canning fresh jam. "Savoring the best flavors of summer with my boy," she captioned the post, where she and her 17-year-old son Duke were working away at making jam together. Mother and son chopped up strawberries and peeled peaches, giving the leftovers to the familiy pigs for a snack, before stewing the fruit and canning dozens of jars of fresh jam. It was a sweet little glimpse into their family dynamic, and fans want more. "Would love to see a Magnolia Table episode on how to make jam," wrote one user, while another couldn't get over how lovely it was to see a teen boy in the kitchen with his mom. "A teenage boy helping his mom cook!?! The sweetest!"

The smell of sweet fruit wrapped around him like a blanket the moment he entered the kitchen. There were multiple pots bubbling away on the stove and the kitchen island was littered with glass jars.

Draco was currently stirring in one of the good-smelling pots. He scooped some of his concoction on a spoon, blew on it and brought it to his mouth, humming approvingly.

“What smells this amazing?” Harry asked as he came to stand next to Draco, sneaking a look at what was inside the pots.

Not looking up from his task to add more sugar to the pot, Draco said, “Molly came by earlier today. She dropped off some plums and raspberries. So I thought, why not make jam out of them?”

“Jam?”

“Yes.” Draco looked up, a small smile on his face. “It’s not that different from making potions.”

Harry laughed, shaking his head fondly. He reached out a finger and wiped away a smudge of jam on Draco’s cheek, licking it off his finger.

“Oh Merlin,” he moaned, closing his eyes as the sweetness of the jam exploded in his mouth. “It’s so good.”

“It’s a family recipe,” Draco mumbled quietly under his breath. Harry didn’t see the deep blush darkening his cheeks.

Wild Pear Jam

Yes, you´ve read correctly! I have a wild pear tree in the garden (Pyrus pyraster), meaning the tree is the original form, aka wild type, all the cultivars (Pyrus communis) stem from. They belong to the vast rose family, evidently by the long and hard thorns it sports.

It can become about 200 years old, is very resistant to draught and produces a multitude of tiny pears which are globes of about one inch in diametre. When they are ripe, they taste of marzipan and quickly fall from the tree to form seedlings. I actually have to weed the seedlings from the flower bed adjecent to this tree every year.

The pears are palatable and this year I´ve decided to make some into jam. It turned out to taste delicious!

There is one step missing in the photos. After straining the purée it is measured and then 1:1 gelling sugar is added, while constantly stirring and re-heating it before it can be poured into the jars.
