Here’s a comic I did for class on being a spoonie.
If only it was that easy, Susan…
Bonus:
When you make it to the doc's office on a flare day and they actually see you at your worst:
Me last week going straight to the ER after my appointment 😂
Most accurate definition ever....
Accurate.
Dear able-bodied people,
Just because I am functioning, does not mean I am well. I can force myself to function when I have no other choice. It does not mean that I am having a good day, that my condition is not as bad as it seems, or that my condition is cured/well controlled. It simply means that I am operating outside of my limits out of necessity.
Just because I am functioning, does not mean I am well.
This is so dang true. It takes all the effort in the world sometimes just to function normally and it’s hard for able bodied people to understand this concept.
Me: I will talk about my disability and illness and not be ashamed or feel bad. These are important things in my life and I have the right to talk about them like everyone else.
Also me: Oh god I'm talking about my disability and illness too much. No one wants to hear about that.
you have to be honest about how bad it feels so you can move on
you have to be honest about how bad it feels so you can move on

When you're too exhausted to even take a shower. 😷😐😶😴💤
Daily Reminder 7/7
My body works differently from other people’s. I am obligated to take care of it at my own pace. If people judge, let them judge.
I want to be hydrated but if that means I gotta pee every 10 minutes then count me out sorry about your luck kidneys
How do people just... Fall asleep?
Sending positive vibes to all the spoonies about to start up school again. I know it’s hard, but remember we can do hard things, and advocate for yourself even if it’s difficult.
