I have been a little preoccupied with the birth of first grandchild . She was born November 12 at 1:20 am Hell yea ! So now that I am thoroughly wrapped around her finger I can get back to a little pottery Here is a chatter pattern I am very pleased with that I did yesterday

Just back from a week of soaking , in ridgway Colorado , a shout out to the great people at Orvis Hot Springs . Been getting healthier by the day , and am re committing to getting my but on here and posting a little more of what's going on in my studio

Haven't been posting lately , recovering from the last surgery. The doc says alls well , I just have to play nice and stay off the wheel for another two weeks . Then I get to start rebuilding some core strength . Until then ..........

So, I have been out of the loop for a little while , January brought me a diagnosis of colon cancer , I week later I was in surgery , and am tested clean . Giving the intestines time to heal , and then reversal surgery in April , and another six weeks of recovery . Anyway , Fuck cancer. I was out doing a Raku firing today of some things I was working on before surgery . Sunday I actually threw some 5 # balls of clay

So, I don't know what you did today , knowing there was winter weather coming , i fired up the Raku kiln . This is the successful piece from the fire .

Loving bowls was over In a flash , three hours , 1100 bowls , gone. So for rehab and recovery today I did a Raku firing in the hot box . This is the finished product

Another glaze/kiln test , only to find that the lasT few pieces that came out that I didn't like , were due to operator error .

the last few pieces out of kilns have not been quite right , tested my A glaze in #1 kiln . Everything came out just right , so, the culprit may be my other re worked kiln . Let the test firing begin .
