FULL  NAME.  jason  lee  scott ALSO  KNOWN  AS.  mighty  morphin  /  omega  red  ranger  (  various,  secret  to  most  ) DATE  OF  BIRTH.  october  20th. AGE.  timeframe  dependent.  mighty  morpin  starts  him  at  16,  but  by  the  time  he's  an  omega  ranger  he's  likely  closer  to  18,  and  by  the  time  he  stops  rangering,  he's  likely  19+.  depending  on  the  iteration  of  characters  i'm  writing  with,  you'll  see  his  age  fluctuate  between  these  ranges. GENDER.  cismale PRONOUNS.  he/him ORIENTATION.  bisexual,  though  this  isn't  something  he's  explored  at  all. OCCUPATION.  student  /  ranger.  post-rangering,  jason  takes  up  backpacking  and  volunteer  work  around  the  globe;  building  homes,  taking  martial  arts  classes  /  teaching  them  where  they'll  take  him,  good  on  the  ground  civilian  ways  of  helping  people  out.  SPECIES.  human.

APPEARANCE.

HAIR.  short,  black.  waves  in  it's  length  when  it  begins  to  grow.  EYES.  brown HEIGHT.  6'1" DOMINANT  HAND.  right TATTOO(S)  /  SCARS.  jason  only  has  one  scar  that're  more  than  little  ones  from  burns  /  every  day  accidents;  there's  a  lengthy  scar  through  his  back  and  into  his  chest  from  his  temporary  death  at  the  hands  of  the  death  ranger.  PIERCINGS.  jason  does  get  his  lobes  pierced  during  his  backpacking  era;  he'll  wear  studs  now  and  again. OTHER  REMARKABLE  FEATURES.  jason  is  a  broad  and  athletic  man,  just  a  big  dude  in  general.  he  always  squares  his  shoulders  and  keeps  his  chin  high.  he's  also  almost,  if  not  genuinely  always,  is  found  wearing  red  +  some  spatterings  of  black.

LEANED BACK AGAINST HER COUNTER, HE'S A-CHATTER WITH STORIES, ❝ i was over in vietnam the past month. we were building disaster resilient homes. it was good work. it'll make a difference. ❞ genuine as ever, but then the tinge of humor fronted nostalgia, ❝ couldn't help but thinking though: would they stand up to some of the monsters we used to fight? those have gotta count as disasters, ❞ he huffs an amused breath at the thought. ❝ and i was thinking about recommending some things, you know? well — ❞ he unfurls his arms which've been folded across his chest this entire time in favor of resting his hands against the counter, slouch telling all ; he's tired, bone-weary, like being tuckered out after a long week of chasing putties and witches used to do to him. ❝ i mean, you know me. i did. they said they'd consider it after they grilled me on why i know so much. i just said i was a big fan of the rangers. ❞

don't do it. don't be so drawn in and weary and knee weak in her presence that you make this visit weird. getting to see her these days is a blessing and he's gotten into the habit of counting the ones he's been allowed to keep. but nothing has really changed, he's never been good at restraint when it comes to her, ❝ i wasn't lying to them. you've been doing good work out there, i saw the newscast. ❞ but oh, trini kwan, kind as she is, standing as close as she is because jason assumes she knows he's too tired to even think about projecting his voice fully. even if she weren't, his compliment is puncuated with a long yawn that leads into silence. he blinks blearily — missing her in the moments he does, hits him faintly, and isn't that something: still being exactly where he was years ago despite everywhere he's been. something on her mind as she watches him just the same, he thinks, and jason was going to ask her despite exhaustion ( always, no matter what ), but then her hand is slipping between his arm and waist at the counter and she's on her toes to press lips to his forehead.

his heart is everywhere. in his gut, in his throat, he thinks he feels it in his fingertips. he hears her say something about him doing good, too, just as much as they are, but he could be wrong. heart in his ears, pounding at his ribcage like something trying to get back to who it belongs to. he wonders if there's enough room there now? for both his heart and hers in trini's chest. if it's fair to ask her now. it's not a thought which becomes vocalized, rather it's acted upon in a tentative return of affection — jason dips to kiss her temple, pin prick fingertips of one hand finding the small of her back. as though he can stop that runaway heart on it's way back to her as it always has been, he speaks quietly against her hair where his cheek has found it's rest post potentially foolish kiss that he's totally already catastrophizing, ❝ i'm going to romania in a week. ❞ HE WON'T BE HERE, SHE'LL STILL BE BUSY — years ago, months ago, now ... still them. there's comfort in it but jason knows it won't last. can't. unless, ❝ you could come with me. they're always looking for volunteers. ❞ another thing he'll lob in there with the kiss later. later. right now, he's brave all over again.

BUT  JASON  WANTS  TO  ARGUE:  'NURSE  GIRL'  ISN'T  THAT  BAD.  he  can't  think  of  anybody  he'd  rather  have  here  now  (  the  care  given,  the  time  taken  —  kimberly  a  constant  balm  on  bruised  ego  and  heart  ).  he  doesn't  though.  he  knows  that  kim  is  made  for  more  than  a  lifelong  of  taking  care  of  injured  friends.  or,  he  hopes  so.  not  that  he's  helping  that  vision  in  his  current  state  though.  and  she  should  live  better  than  letting  worry  drag  her  down  like  the  earth's  gravity  that  keeps  her.  THEY  ALL  JUST  NEED  MORE  TIME  to  build  a  life  where  that's  ...  okay.  possible.  if  they  win  (  if  —  when.  he  has  to  think  when.  ),  that  doesn't  seem  so  far  off  as  it  did  when  rita  first  showed  up  and  was  the  biggest  worry  they  all  had. and  hey,  if  the  new  guys  are  only  worried  about  filling  his  shoes?  their  biggest  concern  should  be  buying  some  shoe  deodorizer  to  spruce  them  up.
