Welcome to the landing page for all things Four Suits!

Hey all!  It’s awesome to be back on Tumblr, and awesome to finally have a place to congregate most, if not all, information about my game. I’m excited to share updates and art as I move into development, and hope to have a more regular posting schedule for you all. 

That being said, what exactly is “Four Suits?”

“Four Suits” has been a passion project of mine since middle school. It has been through many differing iterations, starting out as a graphic novel, then getting turned into a young-adult book series, and now is being developed as a deck-building RPG. This story and these characters have grown with me, and I’m very excited to introduce you all to the world of Decadia and the cast of “Four Suits.” “Four Suits” follows the story of Aric Rydell, who is suddenly (and quite violently) thrown into a world of magic, monsters, and mystery, as he’s inducted into a fabled group known as the “Guardians.” The Guardians are working to investigate the cause of (and hopefully find a solution for) Decadia’s chaotic and misaligned seasons, which threaten the rocky peace held between the continent’s two expansive kingdoms.

whenever they find that the stunt doesn't work as portrayed in the movie, they immediately ask "what would it take to make this happen?"

Some myths I'll always remember:

* Are elephants scared of mice? (They only did that because they were in Africa and had access to elephants.)

* Will a bull run amok in a china shop?

* Is it better to run zig-zag or straight when chased by an alligator?

I love these because NONE of them turned out the way they expected. They went into all three with pre-conceived ideas of how it would go, and each time they "failed." Elephants WILL cower from mice. A bull moves very gingerly through a china shop. It doesn't matter how you run because ALLIGATORS WON'T CHASE YOU.

And each time, they reacted with just... pure glee. "Holy shit, we were wrong! Oh my god! This is great! We were so wrong!"

And that, to me, is what science is. Being excited about being wrong because either way it's information.
