PRAEDITUSHQ is a 21+ hybrid tumblr & discord dark academia skeleton rp set at meraviglia university, a prestigious school located off the coast of italy. the rp follows the 12 members of the school's secretive dinner club PRAEDITUS following the disappearance of their enigmatic leader, professor marcel dupont.

EVENT 005

with  the  ever present  pall  of  𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐝𝐲  that  seems  to  be  lingering  around  the  group,  it  seems  that  the  members  of  praeditus  are  more  bound  together  than  ever  and  𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐲  in  need  of  a  little  something  fun.  what  better  than  the  birthdays  of  two  of  their  own  to  bring  a  bit  of  light  and  𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬  to  their  helpless  little  group.  hosted  at  the  cottage,  bringing  a  little  life  back  to  their  secret  hideaway.  it’s  become  clear  they’re  all  equally  fucked  so  why  not  have  a  little  𝐟𝐮𝐧  while  their  world  falls  apart?  for  his  birthday,  chan  had  requested  of  tallie  something  𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥  with  “no  surprise  guests,  no  strippers,  nothing  obnoxious  on  the  aux”.  tallie  delivered  on  the  no  strippers  (as  tempted  as  she  was),  but  she  had  the  brilliant  plan  to  combine  chan  and  stella’s  birthdays  into  a  party  hosted  at  the  praeditus  cottage.  still  small  as  promised  —  guest  list  𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝  to  those  that  have  keys  —  but  with  stella  in  mind,  she  opted  for  something  a  little  more  fun  than  chan  had  envisioned.  she’s  calling  it  ‘𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚’  and  she’s  loaded  the  place  up  with  enough  booze  and  drugs  to  placate  a  frat  house  —   which  she’s  sure  chan  will  appreciate  if  nothing  else.  it’s  supposed  to  be  fun!  nothing  dark  or  scary,  a  reprieve  from  the  threats  and  secrets  and  murders  they’ve  been  embroiled  in  as  of  late,  but  with  the  praeditus  twelve?  a  𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐥  evening  may  be  too  much  to  wish  for  when  you  blow  out  the  candles.  

hello    everyone!!    we’re  so  excited  to  present  our  fifth  event,  the  chanella  birthday  extravaganza!  it  starts  today  at  4pm  est  and  will  take  place  on  discord  (though  as  always  dash  threads  are  more  than  welcome  also)!  you  are  welcome  to  pop  in  and  out  as  you  can,  no  pressure  to  be  on  all  evening,  we  just  want  everyone  to  have  a  good  time!  we’re  so  so  excited  for  some  sweetness  and  some  drama,  because  really,  if  you  aren’t  crying  on  your  birthday  what  are  you  doing?

EVENT 004

a cold and dreary sunday, a little over a week since the discovery of marcel dupont’s 𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡. a chill is 𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 in the air, unseasonable for so early in october. perhaps it’s the specter of dupont lingering, hanging 𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐥𝐲 over the campus cursing them all. regardless, mourners gather in the icy rain, descending on the cathedral. the building sits 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐲 like a sepulcher against its background, tinted a wan shade of grey by the 𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐝𝐬 that linger in the sky. in every effort to minimize marcel dupont’s violent death the administration could not deny its 𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠. an event altogether beyond the university. the greatest academics of a generation have gathered on the island, 𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 between pockets of teary-eyed undergrads and diplomatic faculty members clad in black. dr. sylvia athanasiou is flown in to eulogize the dead, standing as the 𝐢𝐧𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫 of what was once marcel’s status as foremost in their field. throughout the crowd of mourners some of the members of 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐬 linger, careful not to reveal the man’s status in their lives as he is put to rest.

EVENT 003

a  sense  of  𝐮𝐧𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞  lingered  in  the  air  after  the  night  at  the  cathedral,  marcel  was  𝒅𝒆𝒂𝒅,  and  it  felt  as  though  he  had  left  a  black  hole  in  his  wake  eager  to  suck  them  all  in.  their  group  was  falling  apart  into  chaos,  but  it  was  clear  𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈  had  to  be  done.  their  secrets  still  lie  etched  in  marcel's  possessions    somewhere,  possessions  that  were  almost  certain  to  be  searched  through  by  just  about  anyone  now  that  he’s  gone.  𝐬𝐨𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐫  was  almost  certainly  better,  so  by  the  monday  evening  three  days  after  the  discovery  of  his  death  the  hunt  was  on.  the  membership  of  praeditus  has  never  been  𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘𝒏  for  their  harmonious  agreement,  so  it  wasn’t  exactly  easy  getting  them  all  to  agree  to  it,  but  the  power  of  the  book  won  out.  deciding  who  would  search  where  was  almost  impossible,  they  had  to  pull  names  from  a  hat  to  decide  who  would  be  searching  where.  now  it’s  time  for  them  to  actually  𝐡𝐮𝐧𝐭  for  the  book,  and  any  escape  from  the  mess  marcel  left  in  his  wake  seems  to  lie  in  the  balance  of  them  finding  it. 

𝐭𝐡𝐞  𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 it’s  where  they  gave  up  their  secrets  and  saw  the  arcanus  custos  in  life  fot  the  only  time,  before  it  became  a  ghostly  albatross  that  hung  around  their  neck.  with  its  generous  proportions  (marcel’s  office  was  one  of  the  biggest  on  campus,  inviting  even  more  vitriol  from  fellow  faculty),  it  strikes  the  perfect  balance  between  grandeur  and  intimacy.  the  walls  are  adorned  with  antique  bookshelves  that  are  lined  with  an  array  of  weathered  leather-bound  tomes.  there  are  plenty  of  drawers  to  be  opened  and  exploded  under  the  shelves,  brimming  with  possibilities  of  what  marcel  could  have  been  hiding.  a  masterpiece  of  a  desk  sits  in  the  center  of  the  office,  covered  in  piles  upon  piles  of  papers  and  files,  left  in  disarray  after  marcel’s  unexpected  passing.  there  is  an  eerie  feeling  that  covers  the  space  —  perhaps  it’s  the  uncomfortable  feeling  of  a  man’s  legacy  interrupted,  or  perhaps  it’s  just  the  brass  lamps  that  can’t  seem  to  stop  flickering. 𝐭𝐡𝐞  𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 they  know  that  the  book  is  carefully  guarded,  held  by  marcel  under  lock  and  key,  doesn’t  it  follow  that  he  would  hide  it  away  somewhere  in  his  most  private  space  —  his  home  ?  thanks  to  some  detective  work  the  address  of  marcel's  apartment  was  discovered.  it’s  a  small  yet  expensive  space  in  a  quiet  part  of  the  town.  filled  with  dark  wood,  carefully  organized  books,  silk  upholstery.  it  doesn’t  seem  like  a  sentimental  place,  books  out  number  any  keepsakes  by  hundreds,  and  there  is  hardly  a  photo  in  sight.  less  a  home  than  a  residence.  it  consists  of  a  home  office,  a  study,  a  kitchen  that  seems  hardly  used,  a  bathroom,  a  bedroom,  and  a  small  terrace.     𝐭𝐡𝐞  𝐜𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 the  book  contains  the  secrets  of  over  a  century  of  praeditus  members,  so  where  better  to  look  than  at  their  precious  hideaway.  there’s  a  certain  level  of  comfort  between  praeditus  members  and  the  cottage  given  their  history  with  the  building,  but  when  was  the  last  time  any  of  them  really  got  a  chance  to  look  around  ?  only  two  names  were  drawn  for  the  cottage  since  they  all  know  the  building  so  well  and  given  that  they  already  have  keys  it  seems  to  be  a  far  less  risky  endeavor  than  the  other  two  hunts.

hello  everyone  and  welcome  to  event  number  three  !  we  hope  that  all  of  the  praeditus  members  have  been  watching  scooby  doo  and  brushing  up  on  their  nancy  drew,  because  it’s  time  for  a  search  !  they’re  not  looking  for  clues  of  course  (  half  of  them  are  far  too  selfish  to  try  and  solve  anything  ),  no,  they’re  in  it  to  save  themselves  and  find  the  arcanus  custos  —  the  book  that  holds  all  their  secrets.  divided  up  into  groups  they’ll  be  searching  through  locations  they  think  marcel  may  have  kept  the  book,  his  office,  the  cottage,  his  apartment.  we’ll  have  a  discord  channel  for  each  of  the  locations,  and  muses  in  the  corresponding  group  can  hunt  together  for  the  book  in  each  channel.  afterwards,  the  groups  will  meet  back  up  at  tallie’s  apartment  to  discuss  what  they’ve  found.  groups  are  bellow  !
