You can warble, or follow a siren, or a Shenandoah vireo, into the shade, or take advice from the lights: be a child, or be like a child. You will want for nothing, and you will never be heard.

TLDR
Daisy Dyer is the middle child and eldest daughter of Eloise and Richard Dyer. She has an older brother and a younger sibling. Her relationship with her older brother is strained, the two of them barely in contact anymore. Her relationship with her younger sibling isn’t much better but in the very least, the two of them are still in contact.
Richard is the grandson of Theodosia Dyer, a half-blood witch who rose to fame and gained some prestige in the magical world with her potionmaking skills and gained similar status in the non-magical world when she started a pharmaceutical company.
Daisy is, in a indirect way, named after Theodosia, which is something she has grown progressively more annoyed with since it further keeps her linked to this dead woman who she’s never even met.
From a young age, Daisy had a lot of expectations placed on her. She was always expected to be the perfect ideal for a socialite and representative of the family. She was meant to be kind and generous and quiet. There was not much room ever afforded for her to become her own person. Instead, she was always expected to be who her parents wanted her to be and, largely, she did just that.
Her older brother had similar expectations but also more place on him. As the eldest child, he was the heir to the family and the bulk of the responsibilities that came with the name. Unlike Daisy, he often bucked against the expectations and fought to be allowed to be his own person. He’s not outright disowned but he’s the black sheep of the family and, when Daisy was 15, stepped down from any and all responsibilities, meaning they all fell to her.
As a child, Daisy was a prodigy in potionmaking. While dedicated to her studies overall, potionmaking was always what clicked the most for her and thus was what she focused a lot of her time and energy on. When it came to how her family felt about this, it helped that this particular interest was the same as Theodosia’s, calling back to their matriarch.
It was her intelligence and talent in potionmaking that led her to the Salem Witches Institute. She excelled there, always at the top of her class and eventually graduating as a valedictorian.
A few years after graduating, just over a year ago, she made the move to Magical London, framing it to her parents as an opportunity for networking with the prestige of many members of the UK magical world. In truth, she wants the chance to explore herself but the weight of her last still sits heavy on her shoulders.
