Welcome to Praesec! After the success of our soft-opening, we are now opening to the larger community on 9 October, 2020.
What this means:
Staff will no longer be answering administrative asks (apps, reserves, drops, hiatus, etc.) as they come, but instead all at once during inbox runs, one to three times a week.
We have a promo that you can reblog to your personal blog or indies to garner interest in the group! You can find it under the “Promote Praesec” link on the right sidebar.
Reserves are still capped at three as per our rules, but applications are now capless provided you’re under the 15-character limit! This means you can send in as many apps as you want up to 15 characters starting from the time this post is published.
Everything else remains the same! Also, look forward to our first group event coming up in just two weeks!
We will be easing up on all activity requirements through the holiday season. No time limits will be implemented until the first of February 2021. Then, we will have our first activity check, and you’ll only need one IC post (from any time from October through the end of January) to be safe. All reserves are also extended through the first of February, and any new reserves made for the time being will also last until then.
We understand how stressful the holiday season can be, and we’d like for any RP in the group that you feel like doing to be a fun escape from the chaos, rather than yet another obligation.

Welcome to Praesec’s first annual Autumn Festival!
All throughout Praesec, the towns and settlements have prepared activities for people of all ages to enjoy—because, apparently, even here the seasons manage to shift and change, and the displaced are bound to bring their traditions with them.
To help out, Idrasyl has installed a rapid transporter in every one of Praesec’s major settlements, allowing quick and easy travel between regions so that Praesec’s inhabitants can enjoy all that the festival has to offer without having to worry about crossing the causeways.
Why was such a transporter not installed before?
Well, it doesn’t exactly work too well in Praesec. Sometimes, people don’t get sent to the right destination. Sometimes it doesn’t work at all. But these are pretty rare occurrences. So Idrasyl decided that it would be best to just have it be a temporary convenience—that way, any bugs can be caught and fixed without the transporters being permanently installed.
It’s also a good excuse to visit the rest of Praesec’s regions and see what they have to offer! And to be able to pick up all of the collectibles and enjoy all of the different activities.
How to participate:
The Autumn Festival event will run from 12:00 a.m. EST on 30 October to 11:59 p.m. EST on 13 November.
Complete any of the activities or prompts available in any of the regions, which are listed below. Make sure to tag your event posts with some variation of praesec event: autumn festival so that they’re easy to find!
For each region you complete an activity in, your character will receive a collectible and an event ticket! Only one ticket and collectible per character per region. The collectible is a neat little badge that you’ll be able to put on a ‘collectibles’ page on your blog if you wish (many future events will also give you collectibles!), and the event tickets are a surprise tool that will help you later—so keep track of how many you earn somewhere on your blog!
After the end of the event, we’ll give you instructions on how to claim your rewards.

You don’t need to complete all of the prompts to get your participation rewards—just one prompt from each location. It’s also not mandatory to complete all of the locations—even if you just have one thread in one location, it will still count as participation in that location’s prompts.
Skysreach City: Trick-or-Treating
For once, it seems that the residential district has converged into one—creating the perfect, massive neighbourhood for people young and old to engage in trick-or-treating. Don’t worry too much about any eldritch beings you may encounter behind the doors—they might just be a costume, or maybe they’re stuck here too and just trying to have some fun.
Post artwork or a drabble description of your character’s trick-or-treating costume
A thread with another player that involves your characters going trick-or-treating—or even waiting at home together to give out candy!
Shrouded Keep: Pumpkin Carving
The Castle at Shrouded Keep has opened its doors, allowing Praesec’s citizens into its courtyard. There, long tables are set up, with plenty of pumpkins and tools for carving them—unless you’d prefer to bring your own pumpkin.
Design your character’s pumpkin ic and post it—either as artwork or a drabble about their carving experience.
Write a thread with another person about your muses carving pumpkins together.
Mistview: Haunted Hayride
Carts driven by large elk-like-creatures and full of hay-bales to sit on are ready to take guests on a ride around the edges of the Whispering Moors, the Silver Mountains, and the Enchanted Forest—getting much closer to the more dangerous areas of Adamantia than usual—especially since the spooks are even more active than usual now. But the cart is heavily warded, so no need to worry—here, you can see some of Praesec’s scariest residents from (relatively) complete safety!

Delta Harbour: Seaside Festival
The boardwalk at Delta Harbour has been transformed—while the beach is no longer the sunny, warm paradise it is in the summertime, there’s still plenty to do in the seaside town, which takes the idea of a festival quite literally. Bob for apples and play carnival games along the boardwalk to win some small prizes, like candy or a plush toy—all for free during the festival. After dark, gather on the beach for a seaside bonfire, or spread out your blankets on the sand to watch the latest horror movies on a big screen, ocean wind chilling your bones.

Cliffside: Haunted House Cave Adventure
The Cliffside Mountain Lodge has gone all-out preparing an intensely terrifying adventure for Praesec’s residents to experience. Visit the lodge during the Autumn Festival to experience their all-new and limited attraction, a combination Haunted House and Escape Room where your ‘stay’ at the lodge turns nightmarish as you’re trapped in your room and must find your own way out—escaping into and navigating the caverns beneath, facing whatever terrifying denizens await. But they’re all just costumed actors and animatronics… right?

Highlands Village: Highlands Farm and Orchard
Pick your own apples or sample applesauce, apple butter, apple juice, apple cider, and other farm-fresh goods at the Highlands Farm and Orchard just outside of the village. Or pick your own pumpkin to carve in Shrouded Keep down at the farm’s pumpkin patch. Or, if you’re feeling adventurous, take a step into the combination Corn-and-Haybale Maze—and see if you can find your way back out again before dark!

Windbreak Town: Autumn Decorations
The market at Windbreak Town is open—with crafting stations and tables and supplies and equipment galore to create your own autumn-themed decorations for your apartments and make them your own—and everything’s free! Just stop by and pick up some supplies, and enjoy crafting with your friends, or, if you’re not the crafty type, there are some pre-made decorations that you can pick up as well.
