Hello! I am relatively new to tumblr, and I want to make a community of people on here. I go by prairie on here. My pronouns are she/her, and I am 24 years old! I am neurodivergent (ADHD and CPTSD). I am a college student studying theology and Biblical studies though I will soon start my journey to becoming a licensed cosmetologist and clinical herbalist.

I am a practicing Christian, although I really do not know what denomination. If Christianity isn't your practice, I will never push it onto you EVER. I am someone who has experienced spiritual abuse, so I understand religious trauma in a personal way. So, if Christian iconography/art/theology is triggering to you, I completely understand and am sorry for the hurt the Church has done, genuinely. you are valid and seen <3

When you spot a verse you don't have memorized floating around in the wild, make sure you doublecheck it.

Be prepared for people to start citing these things, believing these things. Be prepared for some tough conversations.

And, uh, maybe stick with using your grandma's old copy instead of buying new for a while....

Lord, our God, you graciously chose St. Dymphna as patroness of those afflicted with mental and nervous disorders. She is thus an inspiration and a symbol of charity to the thousands who ask her intercession. Please grant, Lord, through the prayers of this pure youthful martyr, relief and consolation to all suffering such trials, and especially those who struggle with thoughts of suicide.

We beg you, Lord, to hear the prayers of St. Dymphna on our behalf. Grant all those for whom we pray patience in their sufferings and resignation to your divine will. Please fill them with hope, and grant them the relief and cure they so much desire. We ask this through Christ our Lord who suffered agony in the garden. Amen

i love how there is always new growth throughout spring like first come the crocuses and daffodils, and then its the tulips and periwinkle and forsythia and narcissus, and then the magnolia, blossom, and plum trees, how lovely !
