Protective-Charm Associated with Edward Lovett (1852 - 1933) 1870 - 1930 Known as the âHand of Naplesâ. It is a hand-shaped, hollow copper alloy charm, with the two outer fingers extended. It has a blue bead strung on the wrist, a wire ring on the small finger, and an ornate cuff and a hole at the wrist for attaching a chain. It was used for warding off the âevil eyeâ. Charms of this type are used all over the Mediterranean. Obtained from a soldier in a London regiment.
