In his book Suspiria De Profundis, Thomas De Quincey talks about the three Ladies of Sorrow. The second one is Mater Suspiriorum, Our Lady Of Sighs.

Forest of a thousand eyes
"Le Nahual", a shape-shifting wizard transforms themself into their spirit animal, an eagle, the highest-flying bird, servant to the Sun and defender of the light. The eagle upon which they stand bears the head of the person, as symbol of their indivisible bond. Thus, the wizard and their spirit animal are but one being in two bodies, with the ability of communicating and transforming into each other.
