“Raul is a well-known movie star who is one of the Parasites (men deemed as undateable by the marriage agency you work for) - while most of the guys' problems are things like being hung up on an ex, too into work, or too judgemental to be dateable, Raul's flaw is that he's just really really into mythology and gets super enthusiastic about it which turns people off. They call him the Obsessed Parasite. The player character is a goddess of love and when she reveals knowing about myths, he gets incredibly excited and invites her to join his mythology research club. He's really interested in hearing her opinions on interpretations of myths and folklore even if they differ from his, and all he wants is to discuss the things he likes with someone who's willing to listen and understand. He's used to casual flings due to not being very interested in a relationship, so the MC is the first person he ever finds himself really, really invested in being with. Genuinely he's just a super passionate guy who's learning about love alongside the main character - in one of his endings he ends up becoming an author writing about mythology and it's super cute !!”

i have nothing against a character who is layers of scar tissue and callous protecting a small little sliver of their before self, who just wants to be safe to let that sliver grow and heal

however. when the only thing under all the scarring is more scarring. when there's nothing of the before self left at all. when there was a precipice, and they tumbled over it, and even if they got back up they'll never heal right.

and then to have someone still say i care for you. you are broken and i can't fix you and i'm here anyway. so what if you're a ghost of yourself? you can haunt me
