Fun Fact #18!

In the same vein as the last fun fact, Precure has a lot of lost dubs! Yp5 and splash star were going to have English dubs under Ocean Production, there were trailers for both of them, the narration was done but Scott Roberts.

Maryke Hendrikse lists on her resume her involvement in Precure pilots.

Under William Winckler productions, Toei had commission them back in 2011 to make three pilots for YP5.

Aurelia Scheppers, Laura Siegel, Alexa Kahn, and Marieve Herington were credited to be a part of the dub! You can see on their IMDb pages who they were going to play, but keep in mind to take that information with a grain of salt. Beth Ann Sweezer, who also was apart of the cast, remembered dubbing the first 5 eps.

June 4th, 2022 was when the opening surfaced on Archive.org, it would’ve been instrumental only.

Precure Fun fact #17 - 4Kids got the rights to dub Futari Wa Precure in 2006 and would have aired in the fall of the same year. They held the license, and no other company was allowed to dub the anime.

In 2008 they dropped the rights to dub Precure, and the dubbing rights were shortly handed over to a Canadian broadcaster, and ocean production dub took over. The first season was dubbed under Ocean productions.

There’s no confirmation on why 4Kids dropped the right, but people speculated that it could’ve been the poor performance to other magical girl dubs were getting at the time.

Precure Fun Fact #15 - The Way of the House Husband has an in universe anime named Crimecatch Policure

Policure is a play on words of Precure, and Netflix had the opening fully animated for this parody of Precure 2 yrs ago.

It’s reference throughout the way of the house husband!

Precure Fun Fact #14 - In Saiki K’s season 1 ep 16, there’s a scene where Saiki is playing a crane machine and picks up a figure that resembles Cure Peach to make Kokomi hate him.

This is a comic strip from August 2021. This is inspired by Terry Beatty’s own conversation he had with his own daughter!

Precure Fun Fact #11 - Crypton Future Media and Toei Animations did a collab between the vocaloids Miku, Len and Rin & the Kira Kira team!

Merchandise was made for this collab! Including plushes of Miku as Cure Whip and Ichika as Miku!

Maria Naganawa voices both Tokura Junna from Hugtto & Komugi!

Tanezaki Atsumi voices both Puka from All Stars F & Iroha!

Matsuda Satsumi voices Beyberrie from the season prior, Hirogaru Sky, and two characters, Touji and Rina, from Healin Good! She lends her voice for Yuki!

In Lyney’s domain from the game Genshin Impact, the music used is sampled from Futari Wa’s OST #2, Track 20!

Go!Princess Precure was inspired by the Disney movie Frozen!

Washio Takahashi stated that the reason why they chose the princess theme was because Frozen was popular in 2014.

Precure fun fact #5 - Sirin from Honkai Impact 3rd’s demo references Cure Sky’s transformation!

Her whole trailer is a reference to Cardcaptor Sakura! However at one specific moment, she winks at the camera.

This moment is a copy of Cure Sky when she winks at the camera in her transformation.

In My Adventures With SuperMan, Clark got a magical girl esque transformation! A lot of people thought it was Sailor Moon that inspired this transformation!

However, it was not Sailor Moon! According to the storyboard director, Diana Huh, Cure Mermaid was the inspiration!
