Omg this one is sooo old I had to reread it to see what I had in mind. It's scorchinggg. I salvaged it from my dead laptop along with only a handful of other obikin fics and I see why, it had potential!!
Premise is that Obi-wan goes to Yoda, desperately, seeking anything that might help the issues he's having with Anakin's insubordination. Yoda offers him a ritual that require physical touch, which he's super hesitant about, but proceeds with anyway. It requires clearing blockages in the force by laying the hands on the body and feeling out the location of blockages, (like reiki basically lol). He's clearing Anakin out like oh this is a bad idea and then gets near the loins/heart and Anakin won't let him in, he's too ashamed (he's like fourteen? fifteen?) and hes like you'll hate me if you seeeee and Obi-wan is like we have made it this far, please allow me, and when he does he SEES IT, sees that Anakin is in love with him and in lust with him and obbsessed with him and the minute he touches it he reveals his own reflection of those feelings in the Force, Anakin begs and ultimately overpowers him like alll my fics.
This one is interesting and unique because in it, Obi-wan was sexually abused by Quigon and is terrified he is replicating the same pattern, so he's like, even more guilty than usual?
Here's the first few bits!
Obi-Wan is at his wit’s end where Anakin is concerned, so, he goes to Yoda before something essential fractures.
“An ancient ritual, there is,” Yoda tells him, gnarled green hands squeezing together at the top of his walking stick. “Heard of it, Perhaps you have. The apprentice’s mind and body, the Master enters into, to touch the fabric of the Force. Blockages, he removes, and so the Force can flow freely.”
Obi-Wan grits his teeth, heart speeding. I cannot touch Anakin, he thinks, but of course, he could never say such a thing. It is too loaded, too skinned. Yoda will see as much, and know the unknowable. So instead he says, “Perhaps it would be better if someone else did it. There is so much—Anakin doesn’t listen to me, that’s the problem, you see. He is headstrong, and rebellious, and resistant, but to my influence specifically. If another Jedi Knight could remove the blockages, perhaps—”
“No,” Yoda says simply, shaking his head. “The Master and apprentice, always it has been. So it shall be.”
And Obi-Wan has reached a desperate place at this point, and so he grits his teeth and nods resolutely. “Thank you, Master Yoda,” he says. And then he bows a shallow bow, and turns on his heel with his hands stinging at the mere thought of Anakin’s skin.
The ritual, as it turns out, is riddled in more pitfalls than just touch.
It happens in a special sweat lodge in the temple, with the apprentice stripped nude and vulnerable, for one. It also requires the apprentice’s complete surrender and consent, and Obi-Wan is grateful, at first, for this stipulation, because he’s certain Anakin will refuse it. Anakin has never given into a request of Obi-Wan’s before this moment, what would make this one time different? So there’s a lightness to Obi-Wan’s heart when he proposes the ritual, because he thinks it won’t really happen. He's so used to Anakin denying him, butting up against him, snarling and snapping at him with sardonic mistrust. Surely, we will have resort to some other solution, he thinks.
But then, Anakin agrees. Head bent, cheeks pink with shame. And Obi-Wan is forced to reckon with what that means. What he will have to endure: Anakin nude and sweating, channels open so that Obi-Wan can put his hands upon them, and feel around in the tendrils of nerves. It’s terrifying—he almost backs out.
But then he hears Yoda’s voice. The Master and apprentice, always it has been. So , it shall be. And so, he pushes forward. If Anakin is willing to work on their relationship, to let Obi-Wan in to do so, the least Obi-Wan can do is show up to do his heart. Maybe it will solves things after all. Maybe he can shed the unspeakable, shameful things he feels about touch and skin an sweat and Anakin, and become the Jedi he claims to be.
The fear of touch, skin, sweat—the truth is, they predate Anakin.
Obi-Wan was thirteen. He does not know how old Quigon was—older, though. Old enough Obi-Wan looks back upon it with new light, new awareness, new disgust with every birthday. New astonishment—how did he fall for such a trick? How was he such a foolish, desperate boy he did not see what was happening?
