Here is something from "daily affirmations for when you hate yourself" because i'm having a delightful time torturing john and being wanky with my prose:

Nancy had loved him. As much as John wished—for her sake, especially near the end—that she didn't, she truly did love him. Their courtship, such as it was, had been quick, with John in between deployments, amazed at finding someone who actually seemed to get him, to get along with him. He even managed to convince himself for a while that what they were building would last, that it would be enough—that he would be enough. Looking back, it's clear how wrong he was: that the idea he could share himself with another person, that he could give and receive love, was all a delusional fantasy.

Also when being bred in captivity(this is done at my work and my job is to teach people about it) to get them to reproduce from the polyp stage of life, we have to intentionally cause them enough stress to reproduce but not enough to harm them. Lately we’ve done that by cleaning their habitat extra well, makes them think the word is ending

i personally don’t need to be watching kids movies in the same way i don’t need to be eating baby food. yes, baby food has nutrients and ingredients. it’s made with great care to be as nutritionally dense and palatable as possible for babies. if i were to eat nothing but baby food, it would technically give me everything i really need, because it IS food. but im an adult and i want to CHEW on something
