Nonsense #1
I think that the people who are able to embrace whatever surges of love they get without expecting more are the happiest kind of people. Greener grass and everything.
Moving on
Pune.
I really wanted to move out of Chennai. When the time drew near to the move, I wanted to stay. Once I moved here, I wanted to go back. Now I really can’t imagine going back, ever.
Rhetorical question #1. Why do people and places start seeming extremely alluring when your time with them starts running short? We try our best to hold on to things, to people. We get our kicks from possessing things, dead or alive.
Rhetorical question #2. Why do we give in to relationships when we know they’re going to leave us raw and vulnerable? We pick ourselves up, bleed and heal and sew up our broken hearts, and end up falling headfirst in the same pit. Rinse and repeat.
It ends every night, when you promise yourself you’re not into that kind of foolhardy anymore. And late at nights when you’re awake glued to your smartphone screen tapping away mind-numbing shit against your friends’ name is when you realise there’s still hope.
And then comes another morning throwing away a bunch full of painful memories at your face with full force.
Wow, one more year
This tumblr is Four and a half year old. With hardly four original posts, so yeah, there’s that.
Planning to move to a different city. I am just realising how much clutter I have hoarded over the past year and a half. I came here with two bags and will be leaving with God knows how many. When do we stop hoarding? When do we realise that they’re things. Just things. No one is ever going to love you because you have things. Where did our honestly go? We would shoot someone in the head for a silly reason and yet think we are the good people. Everyone wants to be called the good, honest person around, but no one wants to act like it.
We can find excuses for everything. You’re late, yeah it’s the traffic. You’re lying, no I am just telling you a different perspective. You’re not honest, hey, I am the biggest saint around here!
We can blame everything on money, of the lack of it. I have too much work to do. I can’t travel. I can’t move to a city I want to live in. I can’t do what I really want to do.
We end relationships even before they begin. Hey, I think our wavelengths match, let’s start planning our wedding.
Where do we draw the line? Who gets to decide what part of our lives actually belongs to us, to do away with as we please? When does money stop being the only thing we go to work for?
When do we start telling the truth, even though it might hurt a few or many?
Bits and pieces
I moved to Chennai about 8 months ago, and not a day has passed when my head hasn't spun noticing a little thing here and a little thing there. People are noisy, and sometimes too judgmental, but then there are kind, accepting people too, though it's a rare breed here. I'll be finishing a year in the IT company I work at, in a couple of weeks. Have I learnt anything substantial in the office? - maybe. Outside the bays and ODCs and training rooms, it has been a thoroughly enlightening, educating year. And then there's the thing - pretending you're all grown up and have your shit together. People are getting hitched left and right, and for all the judgments I pass on their decision to get married so fast, sometimes I am left wondering if they found some buried treasure of knowledge that simpletons like me can't see. Well, better being a simpleton with no treasure than a sheep following the rest of the herd.
The mongoose under the house when the snake slithers by…
If you name a child Hannibal, rest assured...
Love this quote from The Office finale.

The best lines I've heard in a TV show, even if they came out of Andy's mouth.
“I’ll wait for you. 5:00 at the station. Every day. Until you come.” – Slumdog Millionaire (2008)
One of the new paintings for my cinema-inspired solo show, which opens June 7th at Bottleneck Gallery! Strictly limited edition giclée prints will be available at the show and online afterwards!
The simple answer is that I thought of the expression that war and death are like best friends, so who better to tell a story set during World War II? After all, Death was everywhere during that time…
The truth, though, is that I stumbled across it, which is usually what happens with...
I, for one, loved death.
Something I drew the other day. Reference here.
