SABBATICAL QUEEN

Call on Miss Impossibility,

   if your word length be

curtailed,

             or—truncated;   

  

Impoverished allegiance

put self-Esteem in decline;

disentangled weeds, 

   Sea plants thriving in the

outer reaches of ocean floor  ∬-∬

Pluto takes a hiding—‘cause

that’s just the way

he likes his smacked leather

Whip

those bone-dry mortals

into doggoned obedience

The waterless planet

has nominated moonbeam:

See webpage for genocidal tendencies and persons to bathe away the stellar townscape

Hey, what if I say ‘I do’,

and a terrifying sneeze

ensues?

will they dish out ruby-red

medicine, mercury & silver,

or some anaesthetised hostility?-?-?

Bundle spoon

into the mouth

Take child’s astrological

reading—the

meter of temperament

and respectable compulsion;

replenish the board room

with stockpiles and foodstuff

 concluding with exam—

in every obsolete Nation

stippled unity

 erase the complex,

    &

 the complicated…

… ever so gently, jot down

  linguistic history

   &

fictive deficiency

like a fickle ornament,

 she’s always

on the verge of

                     falling,

         breaking

  band-aid

needing salvage, rescue

belittled princess

and her pea

enlivened,

   then censured

□ □

PATRIOT LOVER

That night

I came and pulled you

out of the sea;

The moon rang twice,

 dusk turned over an early sunset

loquacious seclusion

Still thoughts,

dredged from a thinking past

(naïvely lost in sullen traffic)

Naturalism

was a state of mind,

Hurricane heaven

Torpid bliss—accommodating

pellets of hard rain

My transcribed rites of passage

and the gap that made

           befitting segments

in your unruly heart

An outline

a general plan;

The risk of never

The thrill of ever again

Happy returns

heady memories

Chilling prophetess was my

inspiring teacher

Did we call each other?

Or did the game perhaps

begin

to scratch new numbers

inside a chalky constellation?
