Just want to add to this and explain that in the UK universal toilets were the norm in new non-domestic buildings after government guidance was updated to align with the equality act. A universal toilet being a self-contained stall with a sink and toilet. They are also supposed to be accessible but this varies, you might get stalls with additional supports for ambulant users, alarms, and wheelchair accessible stalls (which also vary between both-sides access or left/right to get onto the toilet).

It benefits everyone by ensuring better privacy, facilities that work for you, and access to proper and private disposal for whatever sanitary needs you might have

In 2024 the UK government decided to update regulations to require single-sex spaces in new non-domestic buildings, with a universal toilet permissible if there is no room for single-sex toilets, or if there's extra room beyond this. The guidance also tries to define menstrual care as an issue for women only, ignoring the intersex, transmasc, and non-binary people who might need access to relevant facilities and used to have access to these facilities when bathroom stalls were designed to be universally accessible.
