But on a real note, funny how he opens the statement by saying he’s “saddened” and that he “understands and respects” BTS’s decision, but everything that follows undermines that and tries to make it sound like BTS are wrong for doing it.

And if he genuinely believed the category wasn’t trying to box artists, he wouldn’t feel the need to write a whole damn essay defending it. The entire statement comes across as insecure and contradictory, insisting the new category isn’t divisive, yet feels compelled to repeatedly explain why it isn’t.

If the reasoning were that solid, it wouldn’t need this much damage control, and this definitely proves BTS are RIGHT for refusing to participate.
