Here goes nothing. This right here is my night routine. Small right?! I personally feel like this is all my skin needs. I used to have a 6-12 step crazy as anything routine that I traded in for the simple life. Honestly did not have the time any more. And this seems to work really well for me. Step 1. Swipe off your pretty. - I know, I know! No girl likes being without make up, especially around boys who generally think you look prettier sans makeup anyway! No matter what you think, it needs to be done. I have used a lot of makeup removers in my time, none seem to remove everything. I thought I'd found a winner with the Clinique 'Take off the day' but it's a little bit too oily for my liking but gets the job done. Always remember DO NOT SCRUB AT YOUR EYES! Gentle swipes and lots of remover are key! We do not want premature wrinkles! Gentle swipes from inner corner to outer! Step 2. Cleanse yo' self! - Nothing worse than getting your make off and leaving all the gross crap stuck in your face! This is where we need a nice cleanser to get rid of all the gunk we accidentally leave behind. I started using the Mario Badescu 'Enzyme Cleansing Gel' about three months ago and it has converted my skin care routine dramatically. Mario uses around 6-7 ingredients in their products and their 'No Nonsense' packaging makes the products a fair bit cheaper than most of the competition. I use this either in the shower or just after I get out so my pores are all nice and open and ready to be cleansed! Step 3. Tone it up - I know what you're thinking, I used to think it too. 'Toner is ouchies and stingy and I hate it!' If you find you can't tolerate the usual alcohol infused toners you can buy from most pharmacies I most certainly recommend this. Gets rid of the excess dirt, helps to unclog pores and shrink them too! All the while it smells amazing and doesn't dry your skin out! Mario Badescu 'Seaweed Cleansing Lotion' I was a bit worried at first buying it purely because of my bad history with toners but there is nothing in the ingredient list that made me hide under a chair so I got it. I don't think I will ever use a 'drug store' toner again. This baby just goes onto a cotton pad and you wipe it all over your face. Pretty easy :) Step 4. Moist- - urise... Pretty easy. You find something you like. Something that gives you enough hydration without breaking your skin out or turning you into an oil slick. I have used just about every moisturiser under the sun and to no avail. I have super dry skin so I need all the hydration my skin will soak up! I have found the Mario Badescu 'Buttermilk moisturiser' to be quite nice and light on my skin but nowhere near as hydrating as the Clinique 'Moisture Surge Intense'. At the end of the day and your routine just massage a small amount of your moisturiser into your face and viola! You're done! Unless you want to add eye cream which I tend to forget to do, in which case use your ring fingers to pat the smallest amount of eye cream into your under eye. Never drag your fingers! The skin under your eye is as thin as an egg shell, once it's damaged it's hard to fix! I use Clinique 'Repairwear Laser Focus Eye Cream' I got a sample and it is quite nice. Not sure if it is something I would invest in just yet. I think that's it from me! Stay pretty xx
