Happy 6/12 my fellow homestucks, Super excited to announce that I will be vending for Pesterfest!

I've been working hard on making a Limited drop for this event, once the items are sold they're gone. This is partially due to half the designs using fabric I was gifted that all is 10+ years old (Still good c: ) and I am unable to find more to repeat them even if i wanted!

Once I was feeding some ducks from a bag of birdseed I brought with me, and this woman next to me looked so confused and asked what I was feeding them

When I said it was birdseed she just went “oh- can they actually eat that? Is that safe?”

I didnt know how to respond like, at all, so I just pointed at the duck and said “bird”

She then had a look on her face like a new groove was just forcibly carved in her brain and said softly “oh my fucking god”

I'm in Texas right now and it's so hot!!! All day I've been trying to keep my outside cats cool, helping them avoid the terrible heat.

THE CHAFF PROJECT

Hi! Are you cis in the UK and you'd like to support trans rights? Great!

How: buy a trans flag pin and wear it in public.

Why: chaff is an overwhelming amount of false positives so that when a missile gets close to the plane, it hits the chaff and not the plane.

In practice: the goal is to make it DIFFICULT to identify trans people to target with bathroom bans, and to create many FALSE POSITIVES for businesses.

Basically, you might get accused of being trans and kicked out, because of the badge. You say: I wear the badge because trans rights matter.

You follow up with a letter to the business saying you're fucking furious because some nosy dipshit just tried to play fucking genital police with you in the loos. You know lots of trans people (don't name any, if you do) and you wear the pin in support and you're disgusted at them for allowing this.

Blame the business for allowing the behaviour.

Businesses see that their cis customers are getting bothered over a badge and may clarify trans-inclusive policies, so they can kick out the bathroom botherers instead of nice cis allies.

You only need to buy and wear the badge, and you are protecting trans people. You can be genuinely heroic. Even one cis person doing this helps, and everyone you get to join in helps even more.

we're looking to create an AI policy, and when we were talking about this, my boss (older millennial) was genuinely shocked to hear that younger people do not (seem) to view AI positively (a la the recent commencement speakers being booed)

My lobsters were so well received, here are the crabs I've made so far! Only 10 of the 48 I need to make, but its been so cold in my quilting area these are all I've gotten done so far.

Another 10 crabs, up to 20 of 48 needed and almost halfway there! c:

Up to 30/48 crabs done! Did 10 this weekend so hopefully I can start doing the layout later this month. Going to keep the crabs on their own post for now, but new progress past making the crabs themselves will be new posts c:

Up to 38/48 crabs done! Smaller amount than normal but, next update will be the last one of the crab barrage and I'll start posting the quilt being put together in its own thread. c:

Finally trying this stupid* pattern called Roundabout from Jordan Fabrics.

I had a bunch of Kaffe Fassett fat quarters and some 6+ meters of white on white that I got on sale at half price.

I’m pretty happy with my points so far, but we’ll see how they do as I get more blocks done LMAO

*stupid as in I love how it looks but hate making eight fabrics meet in a point.

Well. I was gonna find something matchy to use as a border, but you know what? It’s big enough that I don’t have to. I’ll just quilt it and bind it in the white.

I don’t typically bind in white because it shows dirt and dust more than darker colours, but I think this will look good framed in the white.

Still don’t like making it.

Didn’t like the white, went with the left over blue from the backing, which I very much do like.

Had to do a floral quilting pattern to match both the floral background and the floral prints. I used light blue thread instead of white so it would just barely show up.

I was, of course, interrupted from taking photos by Mike&Ike and Jelly Bean. Mike was very cute about it.

My mother told me to delete Jelly’s picture because she isn’t cute in it.

I will not, I love her.
