Imagine if Pete had become a bodyguard at the minor house. Imagine if he was stationed by Vegas' side. We know Kan has no issues hitting his son in front of his employees.
When he first hits Vegas in front of Pete, Pete stares in shock but quickly rearranges his face. After Kan leaves, Vegas throws a temper tantrum and Pete just stands there observing. Vegas turns towards him and glares at him. He wraps his hands around Pete's neck and slams him on a wall, choking him, taking out all his anger and frustration on his new bodyguard.
But Pete looks calmly at him, reaching a hand up to slide a finger down the bruise blooming on Vegas' face. "You should put some cream on that Khun Wegath. It must hurt."
Vegas storms out of the room. Pete follows after him and brings a little tube of healing cream. He holds it out to him, but Vegas glares and walks away to his room. Pete sighs, squeezes out a little bit of the cream on his fingers and puts on his silliest smile. He might die for this, but damn it he was supposed to guard that manchild in front of him.
Vegas feels a cold finger on his cheek and his eyes widen in anger, but Pete has already applied the cream quickly by then. "Sorry Khun Wegath, but you'll see it'll stop hurting soon!"
Before Vegas could do anything like murder Pete, Macau rushes inside the room. He looks from his brother's angry face and the cream shining on top of his bruise to the tube in Pete's hand and Pete instantly becomes Macau's second favorite person in the whole world.
And from then onwards, whenever Kan hits Vegas, Pete is there with his tender application of healing creams, "Khun Wegath" on his lips and silly smiles from eyes that dig inside Vegas' soul. And Vegas, who isn't used to softness and simple kindness, craves that touch more than anything else until everytime his father hits him, his heart lurches from the anticipation of Pete's touch.
Because Pete doesn't know that it's his hands that heal Vegas far more than any medicine.
