I just know Black became an instant fan of Jan and Phob while reading his history books. Probably yapped off Todd's ear who was trying to enjoy their date (and making evil corruption plans 💀).
Love aside, Tin and Phob have a long way to go. Not just in love, but in life too. It’s just like Jan said, they were childhood friends on opposite sides of society. To an extent, it was never going to work with the system as it stood. They’d always disagree with each other unless society and the governing changed. Honestly, my heart breaks for Phob because it’s obvious that his entire life has been surrounded by his love for Tin but now, that love can’t over power what’s right. His siding with the revolution might have started with Phob’s disdain from taking Tin away, but it’s so much bigger than them, and Phob knows it. And as much as I love Tin, he is a part of the problem. Complicit royals may not necessarily be terrible people, but they are still complicit. Which is what Tin tends to be most of his life. Which, of course, isn’t his fault. He was practically bred to be obedient and complicit.
At the end of the day, he is his father’s favorite son because he so easily breaks back into what’s he’s been taught, obedience. Tin wants to be able to be the man the monarchy “needs” but that’s just not him. Everything he does is scripted and put together so not to stir the pot. Besides that, even though Tin doesn’t look down on anyone and is the best of the royals, he still profits off being one and, in some ways thinks like one. Back when they were teens, he decided only after verifying that they loved each other, that Phob would go with him to the UK. But this would still be under Phob being a servant. Just an educated servant because that’s just the way it is. Which is essentially how Tin approaches his life as a royal.
Now this is NOT a Tin hate train. That is my baby and I adore him. But with the increase of hate Phob keeps getting, I think we have to think a bit critically here. We’ve obviously seen Tin criticize the monarchy multiple times. But really, this is mostly (I said mostly not all) when it negatively affects him. When he’s exhausted from putting on a front or when his love is being taken away. When the royals might be criticized by the revolutionaries, etc.
But every time he falls back into step with what he’s been taught. When Tin is with Siri or Phob or even Jan, and free to think and speak, he sounds less royal and more human.
But when he’s face to face with the break down of those ideals he grew up on, he goes back to kind of sounding like he’s reading a script. He’s back to being a prince and not being Tin. Which, in my opinion, are two different people.
Because he does technically have the power to, at minimum, help those around him. He got food that, let’s be honest, he and Phob won’t eat even a 1/3 of. And what happens to that food? They aren’t saved, they are more than likely thrown out. It’s this complicity that keeps driving the point that as they are now, Tin and Phob are worlds apart. But that’s also why Phob loves Tin. If you remove him from his father’s constant expectations, he is for the people and wants to do better. He just doesn’t realize the first step is removing some of that power the absolute monarchy has. But even Jan can see that he will come to understand why Phob did what he did. But Tin has to see the issues for himself and he won’t see them through rose tinted glasses that he currently has for both Phob and the monarchy.
That’s why the best shot of the season thus far is him in the middle of great poverty, looking solemn while the people celebrate.
He’s so focused on what this means for he and his family that he hasn’t stopped to wonder why everyone around him is celebrating. To think maybe there are things I need to take a step back and look at objectively. Because as he is now, he can’t be objective. I’m not saying Phob was right to lie and use Tin. I still think in the small scheme of things, it’s horrible, but in the grand scheme, it was needed.
Even if the monarchy has to share responsibility with a new governing (which obviously we know they do since this is a real event in Thai history), they’re still rich. Tin and his family still will want for nothing. That won’t change. Which leads me to the biggest question, what does revolution look like for Tin? Obviously, at some point, he will be behind the revolution. But in my opinion, the most important part of Tin’s story is what he will do going forward. He’s hated being confined to royalty. So will he stay a royal as the world changes or choose to abdicate? If he abdicates, that would put the family in an awkward position cause Chat definitely gotta go to prison, lol. But, he has been wishing for freedom from the monarchy so…👀
nothing on this god's green earth can convince me that peter parker doesn't have an ao3 account where he is elbows deep in a 'rise of skywalker' fix-it fic. like, fully invested in it, been writing it pre-spider bite with ned, who is just as enthusiastic about it. but the thing is, it's really hard to do updates when you are literally spider-man.
every three months he'll post and in the author's note there's some shit like "sorry this took a while, i got shot seven times :/" or "i know it's been a minute, i literally got hit by a bus and then stabbed in the leg, but i'm all good!" or sometimes ned would log in and post with a note "hey i'm a friend posting on the author's behalf, they're healing from severe hypothermia but promised an update, so here it is!"
and the fic just gets increasingly more popular for the author notes alone. a good handful of the comments are something along the lines of "i'm not even in the star wars fandom, i'm just here to see if the author is good" or "every update i cheer for another day the author gets to live at this point"
and any reader who is a native new yorker kind of pieces together that holy shit the author might be spider-man because the timeline adds up, and they just fully embrace it. spider-man will stop a robbery and the guy behind the counter will ask when the next chapter will be up. spider-man returns a stolen backpack to a girl and she'll tell him that he "really got poe's voice down so well, it's really impressive."
ned thinks it is hilarious. mj finds out about the fic from twitter, to peter's absolute horror, and changes peter's contact name to "friendly neighborhood ao3 author". but the worst thing to happen is after an avengers battle where peter took a pretty big hit and ends up in med-bay. and during a press conference, when someone asks how spider-man is healing, tony just drops "spidey won't be down for too long. the star wars fic will be updated within the week, probably."
This fandom pissing me off with their pro-royalty conservative bs. Hating on Phob like yall are Tin's father or something 🙄 Phob get behind me MOMMY WILL PROTECT YOU
The fact that Peter yearned for Ned and vice versa because that app was totally Ned trying to, subconsciously, find Peter. The fact that MJ and Ned lived together for 4 years and are a family who worry and care about each other. The fact that Jean and Peter formed a brother-sister relationship by the end. PLATONIC LOVE FOR THE WIN!
One thing about Phob he will remind Vasin that he fucked his son in the past, that his son still wants to be fucked by him and that he has every intention of fucking his son again, now and forever. And I respect him for that
You can absolutely love animals while choosing to eat them… So long as you define love as just a vaguely positive feeling towards someone that doesn’t require you to act in their best interests or even care if they live or die.
