The issue is also the missing safety net. Neoliberal politics do not want to support anyone who is not paying their way in the world. There is no free living, as there is in Germany, for example, if you cannot work. There is no automatic health insurance if you are out of work and cannot pay for it. You will still get treated. You will still eat.

I'm not saying there isn't homelessness in Germany, but it's much easier to become homeless in a nation that only cares for people who actively contribute to creating wealth for the super rich.
