"I told you carpet was a BAD idea"
"I told you! BUT noooooooo~~"
"You said it really tied the room together. It's better than tile, and won't be cold in the winter."
"Yeah well now what SMARTASS!?"
"How the hell do we get all this blood out of the carpet that YOU just had to have?"
“I don’t know okay!! Bleach or something???” Ajax replied in a somewhat panicked tone. His first day visiting Gotham City and he was already in a situation where he had to clean up blood. Crazy.
Lucy stopped scrubbing for a brief moment and looked up trying very hard to laugh.
"Bleach?"
A giggle slipped past her lips.
"This is onyx grey, bleach would ruin the color. How did this even happen anyways? One minute this guy is yapping his head off talking shit about my father and the BOOM his head blows off?"
She sits back on her legs,
"like who knew a 40 cal had that much power?"
“Well then I don’t know,” Ajax huffed, trying to help with the scrubbing. “I think everybody knows a 40 cal has that much power, Lucy-“
"Noooo"
Her voice sings out.
"I am pretty sure the higher the caliber the smaller the bang"
Lucy wiped her face smearing blood into her pale skin.
"Either way I think this carpet is cooked. We should set it on fire and pretend nothing happened. Gotham doesn't need this apartment complex right?"
“I think we don’t need to burn the whole building just to get rid of the carpet, Luce-“ Ajax managed to say, leaning down to wipe the blood off her cheek with a clean rag.
Lucy leaned into the touch with a sigh.
"Buzz kill"
She moved to stand and placed her hands on her hips.
"Like just tear it up or something? Cause I have no clue how to do that."
“Luckily, I do.” He quickly formed a crystal blade from his hand, cutting up the carpet around the edges and then opening the window. He tossed the carpet out the window. “There we go!”
Lucy watched him work in awe before she helped him dumb the carpet.
"Y'know you're lucky we're in Gotham. Bloody carpets falling from an eighth-story window just part of your normal Tuesday."
Another giggle tore from her but she couldn't stop it before it turned into a full-blown laugh. A laugh she had inherited from her father. A laugh she couldn't stop but tried to hide.
She backed up as she covered her mouth.
"I....HAHHAAA....I...I'm sor...HaaHHAAhhaa...I'm sorry."
Ajax didn’t react at her laugh, not wanting to make her feel bad about it. “It’s okay, don’t worry,” he smiled at her.
