She took her time to respond, listening to every word rather than interjecting as she usually did. Challengers were often utterly boring and better left eaten out in the wilderness than exploring an entirely new region with little to no experience of their own “backyard.” It would take them a while to travel through out their region, and she suspected a few would give up before reaching the end of the path. After all, battling and traveling isn’t for everyone.

Only after Whitney was done did she blink. “I see,” she finally spoke, as if just realizing she were still there—and not another grunt that she can dismiss with just a sway of her hand. Perhaps, it was.

"Are you expecting any later today?" The psychic added, not particularly liking the idea of facing challengers of her own. She would leave the gym closed for today as if it mattered. Even if she were back there, she wouldn’t bother opening it unless she felt like it. Neglecting her duties and attracting the attention of the head of Kanto’s gym leaders was something she did on a normal basis anyways.

Sabrina seemed to only be half listening, which would probably dishearten anyone who wasn't familiar with her. Whitney simply shrugged it off. It wouldn't deter her from finishing her thought, a firm nod of her head signaling that she had finished. It was only then that the raven haired trainer seemed to snap back to reality, focusing on the pinkette.

"None today, but that usually changes. There's always a few who neglected to sign up, and end up losing. The scatterbrained and unorganized ones who thought they'd come in and improvise. Never a good idea."

Lifting both arms above her head, she gave each a stretch. "Why? Do you want to come back with me and sit in the audience with the girls? They'll probably try to chat you up, but they take the hint if you turn away and ignore them. The girls can be a little overwhelming, but they mean well."

         The carmine haired gym leader knelt down to the pinkette, an arm outstretched. Oh man, he didn’t mean to get others involved in these sorts of things, but it seemed like they were gonna have to close down the area to the public again until they deemed it safe.

         ”The mines aren’t always safe.” He started, keeping an eye on their surroundings. "Please, allow me to escort you to the entrance. I’ll be sure to keep you protected." Lucky for him, he hadn’t heard any of the girl’s complaints about the mines. He might have gotten a bit protective, though he could see where she was coming from.

The dangers of traveling abroad! First, the plane had experienced a ton of turbulence, nearly giving Whitney a heart attack. Then, Seviper had gotten loose and given the other patrons of the hotel quite the shock, which almost got them kicked out of there for good. Now, whatever it was that had rolled down the narrow passageway had almost caught the gym leader's toes underneath it, frightened expression spreading across her face as she froze in place.

"A-are they ever safe?" The pinkette shot back, staring at the man who offered her a hand. "So far, I'm tempted to go with absolutely not." A trembling hand slid onto his, pulling herself off of the ground. "And to think I considered this a vacation. Hmph."
