Getting closer. Just some printing issues to figure out, and then it’s a real thing.

Barring maybe one or two cards, I’m pretty much done. As far as marrying images to each card.

I was just mentioning this on twitter, but I figured I’d say here as well: I’m pretty much working off keywords for the Tarot that I found via the internet. And then, using that keyword, I find the appropriate PLL element to merge it with. Or, I just something from PLL that I wanted to use anyway, cause fuck it. But I think it lends itself to images and properties of cartomancy that are really fitting and interesting, or they’re a bizarre juxtaposition and totally ironic.

But hey, isn’t that Pretty Little Liars in a nutshell?

So, with this part done, I need to resize a lot of these because I fucked up on that in the first place. I found a few websites where you can produce your own tarot decks, and I need to try and refit these cards to fit their sizing, and then I’ll print up a deck and we’ll see how it looks.

The work continues. But still unsure about some of the cards.

This one was just bound to happen, right?

Obviously the bulk of these are filtered through my own personal filter and view of the show, some of it static, some of it ever changing, but there’s an intense rough patch where my still fundamental lack of the cards causes hiccups. 

Like, last night I looked at the bulk of the remaining cards in the Major Arcana, and I though, Oh, I could make all the rest of these Spencer cards if I wanted... An hour later, they’re all Charlotte cards to me, or whatever. But, for example, I don’t want to make all the “darker” cards be Ezra, or Toby, or the numerous other shitty bros. But... Sigh.

This is a long winded request for suggestions and feedback, of course.

Like, “Emperor” or “Hierophant” or “Wheel Of Fortune,” what would you recommend there?

Making these is oddly, bizarrely, refreshingly therapeutic. Weird, right?

It’s interesting researching some of this as I go, and then trying to apply the right characters/moments to it.

Honestly, my dream would be to have a Cards Against Humanity-type game for PLL, but the Answer cards would just be Liar’s (and other character’s) facial reactions to things. To me, that’s the ultimate nerdy fan thing, right?

But this is fun too.

So, here’s the deal...

I think I said something on twitter previously about how I felt like PLL tarot cards was just a slam dunk idea. Anyway. Someone much smart than me put it best before: The best way to predict the future is to invent it.

I’ve always been curious about the Tarot, and I know a little, but not a ton. I know more than... someone who knows nothing, let’s put it this way. So, some of this is the product of, well, the Internet, and consulting with a friend who’s an expert. 

Long story short: I’m open to suggestions as to who/what should be what. 

I’ll work on this while I have time, but at the end of the day, it’s not something I can sell, because I don’t own any of this stuff. But it is something that I can probably put in a PDF on the internet for people to enjoy and do what they please with.
