it had been months since the last time she had seen her brother. in the time since he left, she had poured herself into researching the x gene to try to find some scientific comfort to the situation pulling her family apart. what she hadn´t planned on was unlocking her own abilities. as if one arden wasn´t enough, there could now be three of her. all it took was one hypothetical conversation with their older brother about what having another mutant in their family would be like and she was out the door and finding herself at the underground. she shouldn´t be here, she knew that but she had nowhere else to go. “adrien?” she melted at the sight of him, months of tension releasing into a single hug. ¨i need your help.”

adrien hugged back, not releasing her because he had really missed his sister. “what do you need help with?” he asked quietly, looking at her. an instant look of concern appeared on his face. “is it something bad? do i need to fight someone or is it simple like finding you somewhere to stay?” he asked.

It had been an interesting evening for Spencer so far, a sudden headache coming on earlier in the day after his trip to the store. He’d tried to sleep when he got to the house, but had had no luck. Deciding just to try and eat instead, he was currently in the kitchen making food when it seemed like someone else’s thoughts began swimming in his mind. He tried to ignore them, thinking it was the headache that was causing them. At least until he realized the headache was gone and the thoughts were still coming, seeming to be a girl’s thoughts. The first thought he had was he was going crazy. Hearing voices? That was never good. He decided to take to his laptop to see what could be causing such a thing, too anxious to ask any of his friends about it. He couldn’t find anything though, except posts most likely over exaggerating what was wrong. That didn’t stop him from reading the articles, trying to find any clues or links to lead him to his answer. 

The thoughts were only occasional, which made him question it a little less, but one did get his attention. They seemed upset all of a sudden, and he couldn’t help but listen in this time. A frown formed on his lips as he did, leaning back in his chair. They had to be at a bar, these thoughts did seem kind of like a young drunks. Like thoughts he had had his first time getting drunk. Wait, if this was all actually serious, could he try talking back to them? There was no way this was real, people can’t hear each others thoughts. The only time he had heard of such a thing was when- no, that was impossible. That was only a myth. He could try for the laugh though, right? But what if this person had also been hearing his thoughts and was now thinking he was crazy? Shaking his head, he let out a sigh as he leaned forward against his desk. ‘Hey, I know we have never spoke before, but you seem to be upset over something someone said to you. Just know they are a piece of shit and you are better than whatever they are saying. Don’t let them get to you.’ He didn’t believe this would work, but what if it did? What if he was helping someone. 

it was ana’s twenty-first birthday and she had everything planned out. she was going out with a big group of friends and having the best party ever. she had gotten a headache earlier in the day but had chosen to mostly ignore it because she was meant to be having fun. she’d gotten home, gotten ready and then headed to the bar with her friends. 

lots of people had been offering her drinks because it was her birthday, but no one was rude. she thought she kept hearing voices but given how noisy things were she figured it was just people in the bar. a particular person though tried hitting on her and made her upset before distancing herself from everyone to cry in a corner for a bit, that was when she was really caught off guard. was she really hearing someone else. could she speak back? would he hear her? ‘thanks. it’s just.... i was trying to enjoy my birthday and some people are just so awful.’

The fact Oscar was acting so calm surprised Vi a bit, but she knew he must be nervous, she could see it in the look he gave her. They were twins, and had learned rather quickly to read each other’s emotions. It had gotten hard for Vi to even think about lying to him about how she was feeling. Giving him a nod, she followed him out of the throne room, stopping outside for a moment to look over at him. “Maybe she will be super nice,” she tried with a smile, though she knew that didn’t make things any better. These betrothals arranged by the kingdoms are mostly never wanted by at least one side of the couple, maybe the princess wouldn’t want it either and they could figure something out? Doubtful though. “I’m gonna go change. I’ll meet you back here when she arrives?”

“yeah, yeah, sure.” oscar said, before heading in the opposite direction to go to his room to get ready. his parents had sent them both people to help them get ready and oscar barely had to lift a finger. it took a couple of hours to get ready, but by the time he was it was almost time for the princess to arrive. he made his way down the stairs to meet with his sister so they could head outside to greet the princess. it was clear how nervous he was now that his brain had time to settle the news and start processing it. “ready?” he asked. “you look beautiful, as always.”

hello! i’m not sure how many people use sessionbox, but i figured i would post this anyway. i emailed them right after tumblr beta came out to let them know that sessionbox was incompatible with tumblr now and they emailed me back telling me they would work on a fix. well, this morning i received an email from them saying that if you update sessionbox everything should work smoothly again even if you are using beta! hopefully, this is helpful to someone.

initially, addy had taken up a nannying gig to keep busy and help in supporting her and her grandma, never did she think she’d become passionate about it, eventually going back to school alongside it. but here she was, being dragged into the shop by two adorable but spoiled twins, desperate to get their hands on the latest frozen 2 merch and before she knew it, they’d ran off inside without her just as she crashed into forest, her coffee flying out of her hand and splashing all over his shirt. “guys,” she called out, huffing loudly as she pushed the strands out of her face.

 “i’m telling you, kids are the best and the worst,” addy mumbled, looking over at the male and the child apologetically. “they have their moments, truly, but when it comes to the material items, the devil inside of them comes out.” fuck, she cursed to herself, realizing how bad and unfortunate that sounded after she’d said it. “you’re okay, though, toy stores are meant to be slightly chaotic, otherwise where’s the entertainment for us adults. i’m sorry about your shirt though, you’d think they’d have made better lids by now.” 

“they can be the worst.” forest said, letting out a quiet laugh. forest didn’t really think that everleigh was a horrible child. she had just never gotten the love and attention she deserved so now that she could she wanted everything. forest understood that. when he’d first felt loved the first time he’d clung onto it and tried to get the most out of it. plus she was still a kid. kids were like that. they hadn’t learned their needs verses their wants. “my shirt will be fine. i have more at home.” he said, shaking his head. “it’s not that bad. i guess that happens when you have kids around. random stains everywhere.”

“i am.” narcissa said, looking at her sister. “lucius and i are engaged now. i thought you’d be happy for us.” she said, looking at her ring. “it was always father’s dream for me to marry a pureblood like him.”

cliche but give me our moms were best friends since high school. they had kids around the same time so we’ve literally been besties since we were in diapers and there’s plenty of photo evidence to prove it. our small town has been rooting for us since middle school and we kissed once while we were drunk in college, but nothing came from it because we had jobs lined up in different states. and now you’re getting married to someone else, at the venue i told you i wanted to get married no less, but that was years ago so i’m not sure if i should be mad or just happy for you. coming back to our small home town, where every corner holds another memory for us and the neighbors are giving me sympathetic looks, its no wonder i want to be the one standing in front of you on your wedding day or not show up at all…

shh, you're okay - amycus & marlene

amycus had woken up with a start, his heart pounding and his palms feeling clammy. beads of sweat were running down his forehead as he gazed around the room, trying to figure out what was going on and where he was. it had been a nightmare. he was okay. it wasn’t real. his father wasn’t around to get him right now. he couldn’t get him. he was safe. he had to be. 

he didn’t notice that he’d woken marlene up in his nightmare panic until he heard them speak. their voice was almost calming even though they didn’t have the best relationship. “even in my dreams he haunts me.” he said, referring to his father. “why can’t i forget him. what did i do to deserve this?” he asked. in his vulnerable state he leaned into them, his heart still beating rather fast as he tried to control his breathing. “i hate this.” he said quietly, shaking his head. he knew he wouldn’t be able to get back to sleep, he was too worked up.
