rumor around the underground had it that adrien’s sister had managed to get herself there. adrien wasn’t sure why she had tried to find him. it was obviously too dangerous. he had just gotten back from a mission and had been told where he could find her. he made his way through the rooms until her found where she was. “arden.” he said, quickly moving to hug her which was a rare show of emotions for her. “why are you here?” he asked.

it had been months since the last time she had seen her brother. in the time since he left, she had poured herself into researching the x gene to try to find some scientific comfort to the situation pulling her family apart. what she hadn´t planned on was unlocking her own abilities. as if one arden wasn´t enough, there could now be three of her. all it took was one hypothetical conversation with their older brother about what having another mutant in their family would be like and she was out the door and finding herself at the underground. she shouldn´t be here, she knew that but she had nowhere else to go. “adrien?” she melted at the sight of him, months of tension releasing into a single hug. ¨i need your help.”

Over the years, Cade had gotten much better at controlling his anger. Though he channeled it into snapping someone’s neck, he was doing much better than before. This mission however, set him off. In a blind rage, he had watched as his fist kissed the concrete wall of the apartment building, blood trickling down his arm staining his very white shirt. He made his way up to the apartment he shared with his love. How was he supposed to kill her? Why did he have to kill her? Anyone but her. Praying she wasn’t home, he slipped pasted the door and headed straight to the bathroom to clean up the damage he had done.

If I had had someone that looked like me that I could relate to when I was growing up, I would have had so much more confidence, I think. I would’ve felt so much more heard, and seen, and understood.
