we do the same thing we’ve always done. we make a better world. // ind.prv.sel. power girl aka kara zor-l from dc comics. portrayed by bells.
love how dinah fights like a woman, probably her mom, taught her to, using mostly her legs and putting more strength behind them, while helena’s style focuses more on upper body strength and sheer overpowering, which makes sense because she was taught how to fight by three buff guys. meanwhile renee fights like a cop who’s been through some shit and knows how to fight dirty, and harley’s natural creativity and willingness to improvise shows in her fighting style, in addition to her gymnastic background. it’s just cool the detail put into each of their styles.

Helena thought this was going to be a standard kill. The man’s driver knew something about the Bertinelli hit, and that meant that he had to die –after giving up his information of course.
But that opinion changes when she sees someone else running after her target. Helena swings down from her hiding spot and runs; if she goes for her motorcycle she might lose them.
Her old target forgotten, she points her crossbow at the figure. “Who the hell are you?”
anna was slowly making peace with her abilities in the pursuit of her first target. Was she truly capable of putting them to good use, or would she only make Gotham worse? Should she wear a mask? What if someone at her day job found out?
The fledgeling vigilante yelped when she was confronted - hardly a good start to her career. Anna cleared her throat.
❛ Oh - me? Uh, hi - I’m Anna! I was just - on a stroll. Thought I might, you know, take a detour. As one does. Nothing to see, here. ❜
She didn’t quite know what to make of this, to be honest. But the other woman didn’t seem like a threat, only an obstacle, so Helena sighed and shouldered her crossbow. “Why were you chasing him?” she demanded, tone flat. Christ, but she does not have time for this. “Tell me the truth.”
@preyhntress | starter call.
❛ I take it your Gotham’s newest vigilante. ❜ The city happens to be flooded with them, much to the chagrin of the Batman. As for Diana, she delights in the smile spreading across her face. ❛ I hear they call you Huntress. ❜ Of course Diana knows her as the Crossbow Killer. A little white lie never hurt anyone though, right?
It’s nice to be recognized. Helena allows herself to smile -of course she knows who Wonder Woman is. “That’s me,” she says, hoping she sounds confident and not, well, awkward. But who wouldn’t be speechless, in the presence of a literal GODDESS? “It’s nice to meet you, ma’am. Uh. Wonder Woman.” She extends a gloved hand, hoping she hasn’t made too much of an idiot out of herself just yet.
@the-bctman said: ❛ Sometimes human places create inhuman monsters. ❜
“It’s really that bad?” Helena doesn’t like being lectured to, but the Batman has been around longer than she or the Birds, so when he came to her proposing a team up, she didn’t kick him out immediately, especially because Dinah was still in Singapore. So here she is, with her hood not entirely blocking out the cool wind. Below them, Arkham Asylum looms menacing, as alarms flare red in the otherwise quiet night. Jailbreak. She wonders, idly, if Harley Quinn has anything to do with it. “Fine.” She reaches into her jacket pocket and places her eye mask on. “Ready when you are.”

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but don’t be racist during the COVID-19 scare.
My mom’s friend was out shopping when a (very not asian) woman came up and started berating her for not wearing a mask. Asian businesses in my area are suffering. Some people are refusing to interact with anyone who looks Asian.
Asian-Americans have been through racism already. We’re fucking sick of it. We’re not flea-infested rats; we are actual people who most likely have never been to China.
And if you’re not Asian and see someone being racist and giving a poor schmuck a hard time for having squinty eyes and dark hair, tell them to knock it off and they’re being a butt.

❛ If I didn’t care about doing right and didn’t feel uncomfortable doing wrong, I should get on capitally. ❜

❛ Don’t mind me. I’m as happy as a cricket here. ❜
❛ You don’t need scores of suitors. You need only one, if he’s the right one. ❜
❛ Love casts out fear, and gratitude can conquer pride. ❜
❛ I am lonely, sometimes, but I dare say it’s good for me. ❜

❛ I want to do something splendid before I go into my castle—something heroic, or wonderful—that won’t be forgotten after I’m dead. ❜

❛ Don’t cry so bitterly, but remember this day, and resolve with all your soul that you will never know another like it. ❜
❛ I’d rather take coffee than compliments just now. ❜
❛ Be comforted, dear soul! There is always light behind the clouds. ❜

❛ I hate such things, and though I think I’ve a right to be hurt, I don’t intend to show it. ❜
❛ Conceit spoils the finest genius. ❜
❛ Watch and pray, dear, never get tired of trying, and never think it is impossible to conquer your fault. ❜

❛ I make so many beginnings there never will be an end. ❜

❛ Wouldn’t it be fun if all the castles in the air which we make could come true and we could live in them? ❜
❛ You’re an angel! How shall I ever thank you? ❜
❛ I have nothing to give but my heart so full and these empty hands. ❜
❛ Take some books and read; that’s an immense help; and books are always good company if you have the right sort. ❜

❛ If I didn’t care about doing right and didn’t feel uncomfortable doing wrong, I should get on capitally. ❜
❛ I can’t help seeing that you are very lonely, and sometimes there is a hungry look in your eyes that goes to my heart. ❜
❛ Love covers a multitude of sins. ❜
❛ It takes people a long time to learn the difference between talent and genius, especially ambitious young men and women. ❜
❛ But, like all happiness, it did not last long. ❜

❛ How happy and good we’d be, if we had no worries! ❜
❛ I think we are all hopelessly flawed. ❜
❛ Where’s the use of looking nice, when no one sees me but those cross midgets, and no one cares whether I’m pretty or not? ❜
❛ Nothing remained but loneliness and grief. ❜

“Eugh..” Jenna grimaces at the bloody power tool in her hand, ‘borrowed’ and now returned with a burnt out motor and clogged in some thug’s visera, “…You owe me a drill.”
“SORRY.” Helena shrugs, not particularly sorry, but she doesn’t want to lose Jenna’s...friendship? Allyship? Helena doesn’t really know what consists of friendship, given her upbringing. She flashes what she hopes is a charming smile and fishes some cash out of her jacket. “This enough to cover it?”
