Looks like this was possibly one continuous ridge at one point meaning chrome hill and parkhouse hill would have actually been one and the same. . . . . .

Most of my photography is unplanned, and shot as i’m walking around and spot different things of interest. I first visited this place in November while watching a stage of the world rally championships which happened in a forest at the far end of the reservoir. I have been itching to come back and get a proper photo of the dam since. This week I found myself in mid wales again so couldn’t help but stop by. This is the clywedog reservoir in Llanidloes, Powys. It used to be the uk’s tallest reservoir and apartently still is it’s tallest concrete one according to the info boards holding back some 11,000,000 gallons of water! The surface of the lake is roughly 615 acres (230 football pitches)!! (at Clywedog Reservoir)

A stormy winters day over in Aberdyfi during our trip around mid wales this weekend. A stormy winters day over in Aberdyfi during our trip around mid wales this weekend. This is the entrance to gordale scar, a double level waterfall carved out of limestone over years. The is photo is from the top of the waterfall inside Gordale scar. There is a right of way path that takes you straight up the gorge but to get here requires a small 10ft Climb up the waterfall. Here you look down through a hole in the rock to the mid level waterfall and the path at the very bottom of the gorge. If you look closely you will see more walkers coming up the path. The is photo is from the top of the waterfall inside Gordale scar. The is a right of way path that takes you straight up the gorge but to get here requires a small 10ft Climb up the waterfall. Not sure how far this valley continues for as it was fenced off but it went for as far as I could see. Caught this chap attempting a highline a few hundred feet up across the gap at malham cove yesterday. The height would have been enough for me but he was also contending with some pretty gusty winds. Fair play to him, you wouldn’t have got me on there. The river you can see at the bottom of the pic actually runs under the cliff, undermining the whole area and seems to simply rise out of the floor at the base of the cliffs. A really interesting walk! Shout out to @_jacksjourney_ for the heads up on the walk. It’s quite rare forecasts are trustworthy in the uk but sunday was fresh with blue skies as the forecast said it would be so i packed my camera bag and went for a walk around my local forest (Delamere).
