Season 5 Questions

What was the legerdemain in the final season or series as a whole? Season 4 focused on this whole sleight of hand idea. Anyone have thoughts on what that might have been about? I thought it was maybe Marcus and the spoons reveal but seemed like a deeper concept.

My thoughts on S5 of The Bear. I went into it with my expectations low, like in the basement low and hoping for a happy ending for Sydney. I think we got that at the end but I was surprised how much I enjoyed these final episodes. Spoilers below

At first when Sydney’s chef jacket was shown stained and ruined and when Sydney asked Carmy for space I thought the show was trying to split them up completely. Previously so many of their touching moments have been watered down. Under the table became under the table for all at Tiff’s wedding. Even Syd not saying hamachi and said scallop for her best meal. I was like stop ruining all of their best lore. But they had some good scenes together that were awkward, funny and cute. I loved the scene when Carmy dropped the lamb. They worked together and solved the problem. Syd had Carmy’s back and Carmy had her back. I enjoyed it. The star call reveal and hug was just beautiful and just pure Ayo and Jeremy. I don’t think I believed it when I saw it. Just gorgeous.

I loved that we saw more of our core characters finally. It was so refreshing not have Claire in the mix. No one spewing how great she is and endless scenes of Carmy getting up thr nerve to apologize or call her. I appreciate the one day format this time for trimming this nonsense out. I have always found Claire’s character a waste of time. There was no time to waste in these final episodes. Though her appearance was short her presence sadly leaves the door open for her to return in the future. Storers interest in Claire’s character is baffling to me. But moving on. Angel and Manny even had some lines. Sweeps got an arc as did Ebra. Loved all the scenes with Tina and Syd. Nat was great. Even the Faks made me chuckle. Neil’s story about his tattoos was funny. I can’t believe I just wrote that. I hated them in S3/S4. Pete and Donna scene. I don’t care if the scene was to make fun of shippers but Storer opened a door to romance for Carmy and Syd even if only a crack and it was a funny scene. Richie had another great arc and even a budding romance with Jess. His story ends with a life changing trip to Japan. I may be in the minority but I found Marcus’ anger and lashing out with Luca jarring. They have always been so chill. I’m glad his story evened out as he communicated with dad and expressed his grief for his mom.

I was trying to figure out the job Carmy was applying for and guessed in my head an illustrator of books or something. Forgive me but I lol when it was revealed to be architecture. But ok. By the end it was unclear if Carmy stayed. I like to think he did and he and Syd are working together to maintain those stars but who knows. Sydney once again had to hold the team together. But I think the gang was looking out for her too. She proved herself a very good and caring leader. Syd got a happy ending professionally. Overall I enjoyed the final season. I’m sad to see these wonderful characters go. But that one story day wasn’t a bad way to go out. Love reading everyone’s thoughts about the show.

I’m going into S5 of the Bear with little expectations. Except one, I hope Sydney gets a happy ending somehow. I look forward to reading all of the opinions on the finale. I know I will have some things to say. If it really ends badly we all need all those amazing fanfiction writers to right the wrongs. If it’s open ended then maybe we can revisit our beloved’s characters again.
