Sooo I feel so embarassed somehow posting this here because I still don't believe my art to be worth paying, to be completely honest. I'm absolutely aware I still need to work on a lot of things before being able to consider myself a professional artist - but to do so, I'm currently studying Illustration in Florence, and your support - however big or small - would help a lot.

If you're new here, I'm a 20 years old non-binary, queer, disabled artist who is trying to make a living out of doing art. I don't have proper marketing or algorythms and so on - just the hope in a community as of lately i'm feeling very loved and cherished on. I still need to figure out commissions, but if you think my art is worth your time, your money, even just an euro- it means a lot to me, because it means I might actually be going towards the right path and doing this - arts, i mean - makes sense.

I don't wanna guilt trip you or anything. I want this to be light hearted and don't feel like pressure - but I do wanna mention that as of currently I'm 90% dependent on my abusive family, financially speaking. I say 90% because i do work, as a first responder volunteer - but i get paid barely enough to pay my bills and i still haven't received my first wage yet. Soo yeah, that said... if you ever do buy me a coffee, leave out some notes! if you've got something to request i'll probably do it - but don't expect anything too serious because i'm far from launching a commission sheet lol.

As a non religious ex Catholic, I find it very humorous that some of my favorite things to draw now have religious iconography imbedded into it. I fucking love drawing seraphim angels and devilish girls. Drawing fluffy little Angel wings and horns is my happy place.

Maybe it stems from the fact that as a child I used to sit on the kneeling bench in the pews with my back turned to the priest and I spent my time drawing in a little notebook.

Making art became my true religion and saved me.

so weird when people act like physical disabilities and mental illness/neurodivergence are two groups with zero overlap and that having one means you’re somehow exempt from the other… literally all the physdisabled people i know have comorbid mental illness, often trauma or depression resulting from their disability, but often unrelated stuff like psychosis too. more mentally ill/neurodivergent people than you expect are affected physically by stuff like extrapyramidal antipsychotic side effects. plenty of autistic people have gait issues and uncontrollable stims. eating disorders can cause osteoporosis and incontinence. and of course there’s stuff like brain injuries or parkinsons which are both physically and mentally disabling. etc

my point is. physical disability 🤝 mental illness. there is so much overlap between our communities.

art school is a very expensive excercise in learning that someone being good at art does not make them a good person and if someone is an asshole it also does not make their art not good by default. there is no natural connection between skill and personality.
