It was night when it first happened, as most things, because the deepest secrets only dare to crawl out when the sun fell asleep. Zev stepped forward, taking the bag from the ethereal creature. “You should write a letter-” He said and the creature looked at Zev, confused for a moment but then giving a nod. Taking up the pen and in long letters with a lot of curls and twists, he wrote on the paper. Just a few sentences, before he took off all his jewelry and placed it on the night stand before looking at Zev again.
Zev observed. It was one of the things he did best, observing and then acting upon it. He fingered the leather of the bag he was holding as he looked at the lines on the paper, still drying. A few lines should not be enough for this, but he knew not to expect more from the creature that was now petting the cats. He watched the creature cry. A soft sound made him look up and he saw the golden bird fly towards it’s master. Consoling him.
The assassin stepped forward and told the creature to wait outside, he would come soon.
The elf sat down and took the foreign pen into his hands and grabbed another paper. He started writing. He did not make curls and long lines but short almost clumsy scribbles that were a sign that Zev did not write often, especially not with such an odd pen. He was used to dipping a feather into ink.
When he was done, leaving one silver tiny swan with the letter, he placed the jewelry, the swan and the two letters on the bed. He looked around, frowning, while this was what he had wanted for the past three years it did not feel like victory. It felt like defeat.
“Jaejoong,
I have to go now, I found a garden that has more place for me. He says it is better this way, that I can grow here. I hope you find your garden too.
I wish you well.
Beinion.”
“Jaejoong, while we never saw eye to eye I do not think it is right to leave like this. I need to explain to you what has happened. First of all, Min Jun will be safe. He returns home, not to the sanctuary but to the palace where his father will take care of him in his current condition. I will work together with the emperor to help Min Jun regain as much of his old self as possible, and if not, make him as comfortable as he is now.
I do not know how much he told you. It is hard to talk to him, it hurts me to see how much he changed. While I have known him longer, the relationship you had with him was more intense so I imagine our pain is comparable. But he has been in distress, not feeling like he belonged, feeling lost. He talks about the galaxy as if he wants to return and that scared me the first time. By the nightmother, it still scares me. But he has also spoken about his life before you, before the Academy and this dreadful realm.
His father missed him and he has asked me to bring him home. Min Jun agreed, as much as someone in his condition can agree.
Our Wise, a group of elves in the servitude of the emperor, as well as a man known as ‘The Merchant’ have conducted research and believe that two very rare things have happened with Min Jun at the same time. First, which we know for sure to be true, Min Jun was saved by forces no one understands and returned as what is known as Celestiel Elves, or Celestielves in short. It is rare, but it gives us hope, because it means that some force greater than our own believes that Min Jun should not die. That he has something else to do.
Second, there seems to be something that messed Min Jun up. No celectielf in the recorded history of Aranarth, nor the Snow elves has portrayed this level of mental instability. There is something else, Min Jun hears a voice. At first we assumed it was voices but it seems to be singular, combined with hallucinations of seeing light figures. We need to find out what this is, but the Merchant told us that there might be a connection to a deity, not the Nightmother, but we will look into it.
You can not come visit. Not yet. The palace is the most guarded place in the realm and the sanctuary has taken measures as well, making it even more protected than before. The emperor does not take any chances this time. All I can offer you are three things; first my promise to take care of Min Jun as well as I can. Second; a one time summoning if you ever find yourself in mortal danger, the silver swan needs to be thrown into fire to summon me. Third; a way to communicate with me, or Min Jun in the future, through the snow elf at the academy. I believe he goes by Key in your realm.
Do not use the swan to summon me to talk, it would be a waste.
Take good care of yourself, in this war there were no winners only losers.
Zevran, Leader of the Black Swans. Captain of the Emperor’s guard.

💫 Masterclass 💫 Samuel & Min Jun
Relieved to see that his idea was well-received by the elf, Sam refrained from shooting down his inspirations immediately by mentioning how they might not be able to incorporate a background like that into their work just yet. He’d find something, he always did.
What interested him more were the cryptic responses, which Min Jun apparently dismissed as quickly as he brought them up and it left the psychic feeling somewhat frustrated, deep down, now that he seemed to deny him some kind of necessary explanation. Sam could deal with metaphors, but only when they revolved around something substantial at the same time. He was preparing to reply again, just as the other’s gaze suddenly drifted off and seemed very far away for a moment; zoning out only to hit him with another unexpected sentence.
“A… friend of yours?” This time, it was impossible to keep the suspicion out of his voice. If he meant Jeongmin, he would have just said so given that these two were rather close from the looks of it.
“Well,” Sam paused for a moment, smoothing the beginnings of a frown off his face because he did not want this to look like Min Jun had said something to upset him. “I’m glad he thinks so. Do I know him?” Only one other name came to mind, really. Despite being a social person, the list of people who really knew him at this academy was short, after all.
Min Jun must seem a real nut case to people, but the elf did not care much. He knew better. “Yes, a close friend. He is dear, he is always close...” he smiled and his ears twitched “Even if he is sometimes a bit of a pain.” The elf laughed as if he shared a joke with a friend who was scolding him.
“No, I do not think so. He left here before you came here I think...” Min Jun smiled “But he has seen you around, you haven’t been with many people he watches but enough.” The elf zoned out again for a minute or so and then focused back on Samuel.
“He spoke about the other elf, the teacher. Ninim.”
{ 🌠 } It will rise - Minjae
To Jaejoong’s own surprise, the biggest part of him felt relieved that they were finally talking about this rather than to treat it like the metaphorical elephant in the room – always there, even in their silences. “I believe so with all my heart,” was his quiet, affectionate reply to Min Jun’s last question only to have that moment interrupted by a waitress before he could say more. With lips tightly pressed together, he waited until the plates of food stood in front of them and offered her a half-distracted nod, more worried that the rare moment of clarity on the other’s face would be gone by the time he got the chance to speak up again.
“You’re not expected to be anything,” the halfblood continued once they were alone again, simply hoping for the best when it came to Min Jun’s attention span. “It’s .. hard to explain and I thought that I would do this in private someday, but perhaps this is the best moment.” Jaejoong took a deep breath. “You are not expected to be anything,” he then repeated, but put the emphasis of his sentence on a different word this time. “But when I look at you, it’s like I see the ghost of someone I still love, someone I still grieve for and that makes it hard not to project this onto you at times. That I wish I could somehow pull him from the depths of your soul, while at the same time knowing that it’s not possible. I do know that by now. And I won’t lie to you and pretend that it doesn’t hurt, because I deeply care for you too, and you deserve to know the truth. I look at you and sometimes it’s a slap in the face to all that is gone, but at the same time I cherish you beyond words.”
The words were flowing from his lips at this point as if a dam had been broken and Jaejoong was simply glad to be able to get this all off his chest, eager to create a room for this conversation before the other could withdraw again. Because for their future, this right here was incredibly important and he would do anything not to mess it up. Which showed in the fact that he did not sneer at the mere mention of Jonghyun but rather swallowed his pride, took a few seconds to compose himself and then spoke of him in the same terms Min Jun had used – a sign of respect for the male sitting across from him. “Your hyung is partially right with what he says about me, but he’s also wrong. I wish I had the chance to say goodbye to my husband, to spend even just one more day with him; it just doesn’t mean that I want you to pretend to be that person just to make me happy. I am happy that you’re back, more so than you can imagine. But I’m also still sad, like I was when you watched me from above. And it’s okay to be both at the same time.”
This time he did reach across the table, not wrapping his fingers around Min Jun’s hand but at least touching them with his own; caring and gentle. “I don’t want you to lose who you are just to live up to the ghost of someone. And I wish that we can just .. be in each other’s company without any expectations, no matter how I must seem like to you sometimes. You’re not a rose, it took time for me to realize that, yes, and I’m sorry if I made you feel like you have to be one. I’d never want to restrict who you are, and I’d feel honored if you shared some of that. Told me about yourself so that I can better understand who you are now and put the ghosts to rest. Do you think that is okay for now?”
It would be a long, tough and exhausting way with an unknown end which Jaejoong would not even have been willing to consider a few weeks ago, but a lot could change in sleepless nights of contemplating life and love, death and bonds that lasted across many lifetimes. He wasn’t going to bring up that part, the fact that shortly before Youngmin’s death, he’d learned about how Min Jun apparently knew someone like him in the past and how their souls may have found each other through reincarnations over the span of centuries. But it gave him hope, a foolish one perhaps, and the strength to hold on – and wasn’t that the most important thing in the end?
Min Jun was not as sure as Jaejoong was and there was a mocking sound in the back of his mind, it sounded louder, closer almost and it unsettled him. he ooked behind him again but there was nothing. The sliver of white was gone and he hummed lightly before focusing back on Jaejoong.
“Why do you cherish us? You do not even know us.” He whispered as a reply as he looked at the hunter, a man he used to love with his whole heart and most of his soul. Who was now the lover of the past, of their pasts because the one that always listened in was agreeing with the elf. He did not understand why Jaejoong was happy and sad at the same moment, it did not make sense and it felt like a lie. because he knew for sure that Jaejoong would not even blink if he had the opportunity to get his old lover back, to retrieve the man that had died.
“Ghosts do not rest, they are with us, always.” Min Jun side eyed the room again, another sliver of white and he frowned. He was restless, uneasy, unhappy and insecure, as Min Jun was and he bit his lower lip as he moved his hand. Taking Jaejoong’s and squeezing it before pulling away completely. “I would like to share some of it, but not all.” He said honestly. “And I don’t think I will ever be close to a rose again, the man you know died.” He swallowed “Only his soul remained and that is what they returned, but a soul is not an entity as defined as what we are now. We are more and we are less than the soul we carry, I am free of the prejudges and experiences that held me back once. All my thorns are gone and now I have petals and I bloom.”
He eyed Jaejoong with large eyes. “I want you to bloom as well.”
[Open] Painful Collision
The other’s unique skin tone has caused Momo to become awestruck for a moment. Her eyes trailed up and down several times in order to properly absorb the information. She quickly snapped out of her daze and nodded back in agreement. Following him towards their destination, Momo quietly stared at his back view some more.
She was once more awestruck by the sheer amount of teacups and pots there were. “Wow…” The witch gasped at the sight. She excused herself before taking a seat. Looking at the beautiful cup, the young blonde slowly lifted it to her lips to have a taste of the blend. The flavor was warm and calming, allowing her to close her eyes as she consumed some more.
“This is a wonderful blend. I’d like to know what’s in it if you don’t mind.”
Min Jun liked watching others enjoy the tea he served them, sitting on the edge of the sofa (he had found that people were very uneasy when he was floating, so he tried to do it less and less), he smiled at the girl.
“Do you like the cup?” he asked, warmth in his voice giving away his own fondness for the porcelain. “Daisies and chamomile. Some herbs from the demonic lands, that are not dangerous and I let them dry in moonshine only, it makes the herbs better. It gives them strength.”

💫 There and back again 💫 Jonghyun & Min Jun
The noise of him cooking almost drowned out Min Jun’s whisper – almost. Jonghyun heard them well enough, even though he finished preparing a sauce including the chopped vegetables before he lifted his voice again. “That’s part of life, Min Jun. You deal with your regrets and learn to accept that you can only change what you make of the results, not the source of your regret itself. Silence that part or it holds you in the past forever.” He’d looked over his shoulder while saying the last part, his expression for once void of any smile or playful hint; instead Jonghyun seemed gravely serious about this.
“You can keep your eyes shut, or you can learn to open them little by little and adjust.” The elf’s second comment had been ripped out of context, but he doubted that Min Jun would have brought it up at all if it wasn’t somehow related to this conversation and therefore the demon took advantage of the metaphor; in hopes that it might translate into something comprehensible in the other’s brain.
“I sometimes wish that I’d never screwed up Minwoo’s life, too. Who knows where I might be if I had never come to this academy, but do I want to change the fact that I did? Not for all the treasure in the world.” He shook his head. “Not on my life. Because what I did while being here might have been painful at times, but it was all worth the good and the happiness it brought at the same time.” Jonghyun had found the love of his life and he was not about to put that term in Min Jun’s mouth, especially not when he said that his feelings for Jaejoong had changed – but the principle remained the same. “It’s always easier to think in terms of what you could or should have done different, but it’s no use to ponder over something if you can’t change it. – Here, try this.”
Balancing a spoon with some of the sauce over to the table, he held it out for Min Jun to taste; the shoulder of his free arm meanwhile lifting into a shrug. “Look at you being so diligent.” And there the smile was again, offered to the elf together with a wink but Jonghyun did not even try to push the issue of taking time away somewhere else. Min Jun’s refusal had been clear enough. “Then just do me a favor and find something here that distracts you. Aside from folding stars, something that connects you with new people. Do you think you can do that?”
“I am unsure what I should learn of my previous mistakes, perhaps that I should never go against what I believe in again... yet that seems to be too late. What I believed in then is no longer relevant as I was cut free...” He eyed the demon and nodded slowly, what Jonghyun said made sense. “Do you not egret hurting Minwoo?” He asked softly. “Even if you see the fruits of the things that have happened, how it strengthened you and him- do you not regret it? Is it not painful?”
He opened his mouth, parting his lips and tasted te sauce, grinning from ear to ear as he made a hmmmm sound that signalled that it was delicious, he licked his lips. “You make it sound so easy, hyung.” Jonghyun was truly strong, he thought, and he hoped he could be as strong as the demon seemed to be.
“New people...” Min Jun repeated and his ears dropped a little. “I think I confuse most people.” He told Jonghyun with large eyes as he spoke, the pout nearly audible. “They do not understand me like you do, hyung.”

The potion experiment [open!]
Jackson thought about that statement for a while. “I prefer to do amazing things while I’m alive.. Rather than simply being remembered after I died. Unless there are still nice things done in name of me?” he thought out loud. But he honestly hadn’t really thought of it. Not of death in general as it was really something he thought he was going to experience at all, or maybe in a few millennia.
He frowned at the others next question. Thinking that it was rather obvious why he was sorry. Though soon after that his eyes widened and he stared at the other male a little bit in shock. “But then.. How are you here? How is that possible?” he wondered, curious, confused and a bit scared as well. “But if you are still here, then death didn’t part you, did it?”
Death was always something the immortals did not ponde too much, Min Jun had pondered it in his last life because he was in the business of death. Yet it had never scared him, he had always been sure he would be welcomed, and he had not been proven wrong.
The large black eyes stared at the cupid and the elf smiled. “Death did part us, I went away...” He looked out of the window, dreamily, before returning his gaze to Jackson. “I was floating in the ocean of endlessness before hands took me in, held me and gifted me with new knowledge... a new way of thinking, my soul was severed from the toxic lines and then rebound. Made better, I was reborn, a new man, but death still happened.” He shrugged.
“Dying is not really a big deal after all.”
Crown and Constellations || Min Jun & Jaejoong
It hurt to feel Min Jun pull away from him so forcefully, as if his very touch burned the other’s skin, but Jaejoong did not truly look upset until he said that he wanted to be alone somewhere else. His good right, without a doubt. And yet it seemed not only wrong but downright dangerous to let Min Jun walk around by himself while clearly being so unsettled and thus the siren pressed his lips together for a moment, still on the ground and staring up at the celestielf. This night just took one of the worst turns imaginable and already left him feeling guilty, great.
“Okay,” he still gave a slight nod, voice quiet and sounding a tad hoarse. “But I’ll go, give you some space. You’re upset and it’s not safe outside at this hour.” There used to be a time where Jaejoong never even had to consider the dark creatures of the night as they roamed around the academy, back when both of them were able to take care of themselves effortlessly, but it seemed like such a long time ago that it might as well belong to a different lifetime.
Rising to his feet, it seemed for a moment as if the hunter wanted to reach out and place his hand on Min Jun’s arm before reconsidering the motion, fingers curled into the inside of his palm as he took a step around the other instead; still just in a tanktop and loose-fitting jogging pants, but it didn’t matter. “There are pills in my nightstand that can help you to calm down. And if you go,” he now added and reached for the second phone he kept, “take this with you, okay? My number’s in there; Minwoo’s, too. Just in case, we’re both not far if you need anything.” He held it out towards Min Jun, gentle and patient, but his eyes could barely hide the pain it brought to see his lover so upset and shaken; panicked.
Jaejoong wanted nothing more than to help him, to make it better, but perhaps the only way possible for now was to give Min Jun the space he needed. “I’m sorry,” his voice raised again into a quiet but sincere tone. “About Blue. I really am.”
It really struck a wrong cord with Min Jun as the other said he would go, there was more anger in the seemingly endless black eyes than there had been since he had returned to this plane of existence. Jaejoong had no idea. “You have eyes but you do not see, you have ears but you do not hear, you have a heart but you do not feel.” he accused the other, shaking still as he ignored the phone offered.
“I am not a child.” he eventually said, staring at Jaejoong in defiance. “I am different but I am not a child, I am unknowing but not without knowledge completely.. I was returned to this life for a reason, they did not bring me here to be seen as a mere seed of a tree. I am not an acorn I am simply a different kind of tree.” He tried to explain, he really did, but there was someone screaming in his head in anger and it was hard to concentrate.
His eyes focused on the window, listening. “You were always like this, stubborn and unbending, he says. The signs are there but you are unwilling to read them and take the wrong path.”
The elf stepped further away from Jaejoong and shook his head before making a swift jump, proofing he still had some of that assassin training in him. Dashing through the open window and if Jaejoong would look outside he would see Min Jun gently float to the ground.
Be happy. Be who you want to be. If others don’t like it, then let them be. Happiness is a choice. Life isn’t about pleasing everybody.

The potion experiment [open!]
There was something fascinating but yet confusing about the other male. He spoke with a certain knowledge and mystery that got Jackson confused and curious. He spoke as if he wasn’t there with Jackson in the room. “But we can still admire them can’t we not? Even if that is not their purpose?” Jackson wondered, not even certain if it made any sense what he was saying.
“How did they take you in and how can you come down again?” Jackson asked, not really following what the other meant with it. One could argue that he too came from the skies, as people often called heaven just that. But the male in front of him was unlike any he ever seen before. So he could argue he wasn’t an angel or cupid. So what was he and how come he could come down from the skies? It made him curious and confused.
Jackson carefully moved closer to the male and placed his hands, really carefully once again, on the males shoulders. “I am really sorry to hear that, I really am,” he mumbled as he could see the love the other must have felt for his husband.
“To be admired after death, is that not the ultimate fate of all that was once great and not seen for what it was in their time?” he asked and then smiled a little, there was sadness in his eyes however, he poked one of the ingredients a little with his dark fingertips.
Min Jun looked up, eyes widening in surprise and he tilted his head slightly. “Why are you so sorry?” He asked, sure it was sad but the othe was a stranger and there was no way he was aware of the full story... Oh!
“You must have misunderstood-” Min Jun said with a smile and added in a whisper “I was the one that died.”
