In 1937 two women caused a car accident by wearing shorts in public for the first time
I vow to reblog this every time is shows up on my dash
love this
they caused a car crash
No they didnât. The man driving his car who took his eyes off the road because he was staring at a pair of women caused a car crash. He averted his eyes from the road, he endangered other people and he crashed his own car. This is all the proof you need that we live in a society that blames women for things they didnât do.
^ Reblog for the comment and lovely picture
Accountability
Except no, they really didnât cause a car crash. The man didnât get distracted and caused a car crash either. In fact no one was endangering people by staring at two women instead of focusing on driving. The crash never happened and the women never caused it. A close look at the picture reveals, the car does not have any kind of dent and did not hit the pole. It is actually a staged picture taken by Toronto-based commercial photography firm, Alexandra Studios(City of Toronto Archives, Fonds 1257 Series 1057 Item 4766). The photo session of Alexandra Studios in fact dates back to 1937, the women seen are most certainly models and they did not cause any accident. It was perhaps taken as a snapshot of city life. Iâm all for not blaming women for things they didnât do, Iâm also for not blaming men for things they didnât do too tbh. I have lost faith that anyone on this website ever has the common sense to look up anything they see on this site. Please stop immediately believing any sourceless âfactâ on the internet.
Hereâs a different picture from the scene, here it is more evident that there was no crash.
