“ur up early” bold of you to assume i’ve slept
just as a heads up: my other language is shy. i’m really bad at initiating stuff so if we’re mutuals and we haven’t spoken please feel free to reach out to me. i’ll work on reaching out to people too, i’ve just never been good at it and i get anxious sometimes when talking to people for the first time.

Lan Fan hadn’t been completely sure as to what she had felt while doing her rounds. It was a presence, and that sent her into alert on her own. But, after feeling into such a thing, it was strange. This was something she had never quite felt before. It wasn’t a homunculus, no… It couldn’t be. She would have known from an abundance of souls inside. But instead this was the opposite, she could feel an absence of a soul, but still a presence. What could have something like this? What could such a thing possibly do?
With a pit of anxiety welling up inside of her, she moved toward the source of that presence, keeping herself as hidden as she could with the hope that this wouldn’t be the end of her. But in seeing the young man as the source, her eyes were wide. She could see a resemblance that was uncanny. That had to be Ling, right? But, maybe not. It was only the back in her sights, so that shouldn’t be enough to tell. But there was something about his stature, it felt so familiar to her. Was this an impostor? Well, there was only one way that she would find out.
Stepping out of the bushes, she took out the blade from her automail arm, with a ready position to attack. “State your purpose, trespasser.”
How strange. This place looked like home, it felt like home, but it wasn’t home. He wasn’t sure how he knew, he just did; something was off, whether it be the ground under his feet or the people around him, and so it put him on guard. He’d been wandering for a short while now, relying primarily on his senses aside from sight, and thankfully hadn’t been noticed yet. He should fit in, if it were similar enough to where he’d come from, so he wasn’t too concerned. Still, this familiarity ... it wasn’t welcome. He didn’t like the thought of treading ground he once had, nor the implications that went with it. So he kept to himself, hood up, face down, and checked constantly to make sure people weren’t paying him any mind or looking his way.
It worked, for a while, until it didn’t.
It should’ve occurred to him sooner that, if this really were somewhere like his old home, they could have abilities similar to those from it too. This wouldn’t be an issue if he weren’t as he was, but unfortunately he’d stand out just as much as others of his sort did to him. Ling noticed her presence before she made herself known, and kept a metaphorical eye on it until she decided to show herself; no need to call someone out unless they felt like outing themselves, right? That, and he could casually divert to a quieter spot, acting as though he needed to go this way. There was only one person that came to mind when he considered how stealthy this individual was, but he shoved that thought down when it surfaced. Surely it couldn’t be. After what’d happened, there was no way.
Except there was. It was her voice that alerted him, the new landscape had confused his heightened senses and clouded his ability to read her more closely. He froze, one hand half-raised in the position he preferred when he summoned his Keyblade, and then slowly lowered said hand, turning to face her. He wouldn’t turn entirely, however, and kept his head turned to one side. Trespasser. Something about that almost amused him, got the faintest flicker of warmth, but it quickly died down. Oh, well.
“... I’m an explorer.” Close enough. He almost contemplated changing his voice somehow, but he didn’t really know how to do that, so he didn’t bother. “Am I somewhere I’m not supposed to be?”
hi my name is skylar and my primary language is angst -
ghosts
Ling is a withdrawn ghost. Those who catch a glimpse of you describe you as appearing melancholic and lost in thought. Your spirit haunts a forgotten farm house and echoes quiet whistles. You died from starvation.
sorry if i’m really quiet or slow, i work in tech and spend most of my time hard-focusing on that lately. should be more active over the weekend though, i’m hoping to get some threads going and write a basic backstory + headcanons page for the blog.
He acted like he felt nothing because he felt everything. He seemed not to care because he cared too much.

Apparently “spite” is not an ‘appropriate answer’ to “What motivates you?”
I just rewatched Brotherhood, and I totally fell in love with all my favorite characters again.

“Hey! I heard that!”

“Don’t you know it was a requirement to be a disaster to join the Organization? That’s just how Master Xehanort works.”
“I didn’t know that, but it makes sense. None of them had any idea what they were doing, it was funny to watch.”
