There have been multiple times where I've seen people are like "haha Hua Cheng made up a story about being kicked out so Xie Lian would take him in haha so silly" so I just wanted to point this out.

He was quoting himself from when he was a little boy.

He was scared to just outright say who he was, but he kept trying to jog Xie Lian's memory (though ofc being a ghost with a photographic memory, he may not have remembered that normal people don't remember things from 800 years ago). He was constantly quoting himself. He showed Xie Lian the palm of his hand with the intention that Xie Lian see his totally fucked up fate and realize who he is.

To be honest... Hua Cheng doesn't really lie to Xie Lian. He lies by omission sometimes, but he does not outright lie. And I feel like people are missing something by apparently not being aware that Hua Cheng was trying to tell Xie Lian who he was, without telling him.

That's why he started trembling and laughing when Xie Lian recalled the story of the suicidal boy that Xie Lian told 'live for me!' - The entire time, he thought Xie Lian forgot about him. Until then.

Nirvana In Fire is sooooo crazy. Prince Jing will show up at Mei Changsu’s house and say I dont usually do this… if my dead wife I mean! Childhood best friend! I never expected it to do well; it's my most read fic, but nowhere near as popular as other fics in the mdzs fandom, which I hadn't minded at all until today. seeing this comic, I am now hoping more readers will find my series, if only so that they may appreciate raff's art to the fullest <3

Something about being 15 and hopeless and looking for a reason to live, shooting bullets into a corpse, and it isn't even cruelty it's just apathy keeping you upright. Something about a boy your age, who's short and angry but so alive with every flame of emotion that you've tried to stoke in the desert of your heart, and how he kicks the gun out of your hand because he thinks it's wrong. Something about listening to him.

Something about being 22. Being 22 and you're still empty, but the world is more beautiful than you ever dared to believe and you're not letting go just yet. Something about the boy, still at your side, still holding you close to your humanity like it's an iron, painful and burning against your flesh.

Something about how this time he asks whether you'll be cruel. It's more familiar than kindness, but you walk away from someone who's just as empty and lost, in a different way. And maybe you should feel bad, because you took away his dearest friend, his anchor, the one who understood him, and the one who changed his life. But Dostoyevsky tried to turn Chuuya in a weapon and you can't feel bad for killing him.

But Chuuya asks if you'll be cruel. Rub it in maybe, salting the blood as though ut was Earth.

You don't. Maybe that means you've changed. Maybe it means you understand. Maybe you're more apathetic than you used to be.

But Chuuya looks at you, and you wonder why humans have every been distracted by the stars when there's a whole galaxy in front of you, and you can't help but think that the change must have been good if it brought you here.

"我在", an experimental comic I did on my break. A scene based on Mo Dao Zu Shi audio drama season 2 episode 16. My fav wangxian moment so far (but they didn't featured it on cql). Poor wei wuxian got resurrected just to be framed all over again.
