Megan didn’t bother with the menu, already knowing what she wanted and liked. It wasn’t that she hadn’t expected to hear that question, but more so that she wasn’t sure what all she was willing to tell. “I finished school, applied to colleges. You know, normal stuff.” She shrugged and placed her hands on her lap, wringing her fingers obsessively. “I did a lot of training with my parents, went on a few of the missions they got themselves roped into.”
It had been dangerous, but exactly what she had needed to keep her mind busy after all of the battles with inner dialogue brought to her by the ghost of her past. “It was nothing important, really. Mostly just the training and working at their school house with the kids. There are some great kids over there.” She sometimes wished she had stayed, but the reason she went into her field of study was with the hope of going back and helping out.
“I cannot fault that, not when I did most of the same.” He replied, flicking through the food menu as he spoke, a small smile pulling up the corners of his lips. “I did enjoy spending my spare time with the children of the Kingdom, entertaining them with magic.” Aesir finished speaking as a waiter arrived and quickly took their orders and their menus, leaving them alone once more.
“Many of them were invited to the social events that were held to try and negotiate peace. I must admit, they were certainly more enjoyable to be around than the women attempting to seduce me for a spot on the throne. Or a child.” Aesir rolled one shoulder in a casual shrug, glancing back up at Megan. “I’m fairly certain that even from the looks you received as we walked here that you would have had the same problem.”
