Not sure if this is a hot take anymore, but:

The LEGO Ninjago movie was really good! I am a pretty big fan of the tv series and I still loved the movie! Some people get upset that the movie went against canon but I always interpreted the LEGO movies to be portrayed as if children were playing with the LEGO.

Children don’t care about “canon”, they care about having fun. So, based off of that logic, of course the LEGO Ninjago movie won’t be canon. And that is perfectly fine with me.

(Idk, I feel like the movie just isn’t as appreciated as the others and I don’t have anyone to talk to about it 😭)

I like seeing other people appreciate both the movie and series. :)

It's a movie, for families, and me and my brother loved it.. and my affection for Garmadon grew from that film (I now prefer series Garmadon as I'm angst guy myself rather than pathetic but goofy evil guy, but I love both as a reflection of each other and their worlds.)

I personally got back into the show in 2020 after watching the movie in 2017/2018 over and over again. That movie booted up the interest I was forced to abandon halfway through season 4, and really, it was good fun and silly goofy.

Any, that's all I have to add in my hyjack of a perfectly good post that I agree with... sorry op

I LOVE THE MOVIE EVEN AS A SEPARATE ALTERNATE WORLD. and not just a damn "school universe with teenagers," but also as a separate developing world. especially if you rely on concepts and additional information, it's quite an exciting thing. Oh, and the humor that immediately overshadows what happened after any cruelty is a favorite part of Lego movies.

#I have six garmadon figures from the movie. It's not an obsession #honestly #even the primitiveness of the characters in some cases can be coolly played and complemented.
