[URGENT] UK NHS consultation on puberty blockers
VERY SHORT DEADLINE! (Tuesday 1st November 2023)
The UK's National Health Service (NHS) are about to ban puberty blockers for all trans adolescents, except for a small group who are eligible and willing to be research subjects.
"As part of this NHS England-led process, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) was commissioned to review the published evidence. Overall, there was no statistically significant difference in gender incongruence, mental health, body image and psychosocial functioning in children and adolescents treated with PSH." -- 6-page introductory PDF to consultation
That's because puberty blockers don't change gender characteristics by definition, you absolute donuts.
They're carrying out a consultation on this because they have to, and there's only two days left. If you are in the UK and you are a young trans person or know any young trans people, please check out this consultation.
Here's the first question, to help you work out if you're in the target group:
In "other", you could put anything like "friend of a trans adolescent", "family member of a trans child", etc. If you're a trans adult who was on blockers or who would have been on blockers if waiting lists had been shorter or family/doctors had been more supportive etc, choose "patient".

Religion is inseparable from the time and place that it comes from. When reconstructing rebuilding a religion you should remember that, and adapt it as needed to the time and place that you live in now.
Check your conspiracy theory part two: double, double, boil and trouble
Does your conspiracy theory sound something like this?
There is a large number of people who practice a form of religion that demands animal and human sacrifices.
Their practices can be traced all the way back to ancient times.
They are responsible for many mysterious murders, disappearances, and animal deaths.
They especially prey on children, or require children for certain rituals.
Their rituals include immoral sexual activities.
They practice ritual cannibalism.
They use something from the victims' bodies for medicinal or mystical purposes.
They regularly cast curses.
They have special means of manipulating or controlling people's minds.
Strange medical and psychological symptoms are evidence that one has been targeted or tortured by these people.
Their rituals and holidays are viscerally disgusting mockeries of normal, wholesome rituals and holidays. Feces, urine, and blood are often involved.
Members are severely punished (physically and psychologically) for transgressions.
Members are frequently driven to suicide.
Members often lead double lives, often seeming to be good law-abiding citizens to the public.
There are numerous telltale signs that give their allegiance away; EG, strange body markings or owning things that could be used in rituals.
If evidence can't be found, it's because they have ways of hiding it.
They have ways of traveling and transporting victims to seemingly improbable locations with no one noticing.
They might believe themselves to be worshiping pagan gods, but it's actually a satanic deception.
All of these claims go back to early modern witch panic and blood libel. (There is significant overlap between these things.) You can find this kind of stuff claimed in literature like the Malleus Malificarum, A Discovery of Witches (the one by Matthew Hopkins), and the Compendium Maleficarum. You can also find information on the history of blood libel over here.
More things to keep in mind when doing your research on the history of witchcraft and pagan practices. You WILL run into these claims, and not just in the crackpot scaremonger texts.
It's also worth nothing that these claims repeat themselves in just about every conservative moral panic, just aimed at a different group of "undesirables." And yes, nine times out of ten, it all goes back to antisemitism in a different hat.
Many of the claims about witches and alleged satanic practices were popularized in the Malleus, as mentioned above, and also in Daemonologie, written and published by King James I/VI of England.

You probably don’t know the name Paul Fasana, but read enough LGBTQ history and he pops up in book after book over the last three decades—not in the text itself, but in the acknowledgments: Pink Triangle Legacies (2022); Language Before Stonewall (2019); Greetings From the Gayborhood (2008), Becoming Visible (1998). From 1995 until literally the week he died in April 2021, Fasana volunteered as chief archivist for the Stonewall National Museum, Archives & Library in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, one of the oldest and largest independent queer archives in the United States.
