idk. yesterday was a slow day and at the end of it, I still stared into a cash drawer, one of three, that had more than my rent in it, even if you only count the 20s. I spent a lot of that day trying to calculate in my head how many hours of work equal one pair of pants, let alone how many hours of work equals the fun thing I want to do next month.

I feel a cough coming on, because I work in a drug store, and all of my customers are sick. I always feel a little bit sick, now. I can't afford to eat well enough to keep my body healthy. Cough medicine is worth two hours and 20 minutes of work. Our store probably bought a case of cough medicine for they price we're selling one box. If this cough gets worse, I might have to call out, which will cost me more than the medicine in the long run- but that doesn't give me the money to buy the medicine right now. I stock a case onto the shelf. I don't buy any.

A mom wrangling three crying, sick kids enters my line and sets two types of children's medicine down, says they're both on sale and thank god for that. I ring her up, and she gets very quiet, because she misread the sign, and her total is twice as high as she was expecting. Her youngest screams in the cart, because she's burning up with fever. Her mother very quietly asks, please, she's so sorry, if I could please take the more expensive one off her total.

I agree, I move the box below the counter, and when she's not looking, I slip it into her bag. I pray as hard as I can that if she notices the "mistake" she says nothing, because I so desperately want her to have that medicine. The store has lost profit at the cost of a child's health. I don't bat an eye. This is a terminable offense. If I'm presented with the same situation tonight, I'll do it in a heartbeat.

The myth of evil employees stealing from the company falls apart the second you realize the company would shoot you dead to make a profit. This isn't two equal players, one of whom is stealing from the other. This is someone fighting for survival versus someone fighting to make an extra million. It's not equal.

Employees should be able to steal, actually.

Confession: Some of these confessions/comments are a mess! Y'all go on and on about how you’re gonna interracially date because black men are disrespectful and treat you bad. Here in the states when slavery was going on, black people were seen as property and were forced to have children TOGETHER because their children kept the plantation going. Interracial relationships were frowned upon and could get you killed. Emmett Till supposedly whistled at a white woman and was killed for that, so you know they stayed away from white women. Trust and believe, he (BM) wanted a white woman but wasn’t willing to risk his life. He took what he could get which was black women. During the civil rights movement with Dr. King cheating on his beautiful, smart and supportive BLACK wife with multiple white women and the black male panther members having black women protect them while they messed with white women isn’t new. Far as black men disrespecting black women? In a way yes, it’s been getting worse but that’s because they have more resources. Interracial relationships are accepted in the black community for black men & all over the world, Twitter and other social media websites that are ran by black men to trash black women, and them understanding they can do whatever they want do to us. Y'all can stop with these black love post and black men treated black women right back then. They had no choice but to stay with us, stop lying to yourself. When you see a black couple don’t view it as “black love” they are black and dating. Like that’s it lol you don’t hear Mexicans saying Mexican love or Asians saying Asian love. So many Black men got upset when @fedupblackwoman made that post about how Black men bash Black women. They say “not all Black men are like that” or “Black women do it too” but there are Black men who made careers out of disrespecting Black women. They bought houses and cars, fed their families, and put there kids through school by disrespecting black women. The fact that multiple men did and still do this shows that there is a huge problem here. These men would not be so successful if there weren’t large number of people who shared their beliefs about black women. My dad is black, and all about pro black, black lives matter, building black businesses etc. He is married to my mother (who is black) and low key hates white people. Today he was talking to my sister and I and he literally encouraged us to consider dating out of our race (not to stop considering black men but consider everyone). He was saying that he hears how some black men (his own friends) talk about black women, disrespect black women and up lift non black women. I know that must have taken a lot considering how low-key hates white people but he has our best interests ta heart. You know things must be bad if even he thinks theres no hope for black love anymore.
