i hate the system

ughhh- today it decided to be SO mean. i tried to set up kofi but it wanted me to connect payment first so i tried stripe which hit me with a 2fa to a phone number that's off cause i didn't pay for it so i used the backup code (thanks past me!) and it's gunna take like 12 hours so i'm waiting for that but in the meantime i tried to setup paypal instead except i don't use paypal (but figured my babies would like the option anyway?) cause they're gross and deadnamey and doxxy and kofi connected really easy actually so that's good BUT paypal made me type in my password and a security code three times in a row before they let me in so i went back to kofi but it said i needed to verify my paypal acc (UGHHHHHH) so i went to add a bank account and mercury DOESN'T HAVE E TELLERS??? so i got that error like twice and now imma cry and quit cause i have to go in and do the 3 business days micro payments and atp imma just wait for stripe and i didn't even look good in the face id thingy and i didn't care cause i thought a bot would look at it but nooo i should've knoooown

For all its faults Tumblr has truly ruined all other social media for me because my friends all have Instagram and are all trying to get me on Instagram more but every time I open Instagram there are like fifteen things screaming for my attention and when I get over myself long enough to start scrolling it's like. Where is my chronological dash. Where is the following-only option. Who are these people. Why are there so many videos. Everyone is screaming at me. And then before I know it I'm thirty minutes into scrolling and I haven't seen a single thing that I actually care about. At least on Tumblr when I see stuff I don't care about I know someone I follow has found a new interest.

i get that miles being sheltered to punk culture/ideas is an easy assumption, considering his parents' attitude towards gwen, but like. i really really want to pose to you all miles morales the graffiti artist, who's incredibly aware that his dad wouldn't defend him if he was arrested, but still believes in and makes public art. miles morales the black scholarship kid at a predominantly white school that treats him in equal turns like a snowflake, a loose cannon and a charity case, who in one of the novels gets suspended for calling out & starting a protest against his racist history teacher. miles morales who in that same novel gave his own cash to a pickpocket he had to stop after giving him a chance to surrender. miles morales who keeps getting told to shut up & back down but doesn't, even if it's "for his own good". miles morales who after being told he'd never fit into a system that should've helped him said "then fuck your system" and electrocuted the leader.

miles morales might not be punk aesthetically, but he gets it. he gets it more than a lot of so-called "punks" do.

He shows up at Visions Academy, steals a uniform and immediately begins arguing with teachers about the classist nature of private education and the voucher system, but he's so smart and well read that no one ever figures out he's technically not enrolled at the Academy. Meanwhile Miles immediately starts crushing on this cool punk rock rebel who defies expectations but can't work up the courage to go up and say high.

Miles tries the shoulder touch, Hobie flirts back, and Miles turns invisible on the spot.

on this picture i drew Alexandr Andreevich Alexandrov - cavalry officer of the russian imperial army that participated in napoleonic wars. people persistently keep on misgendering mispronounsing deadnaming and calling him a crossdresser although alexandrov clearly stated that he didn't want to be called by his deadname and being treated like anything but a man. that's an interesting historical figure and i wanted to draw attention to his person. i can't tell everything about him in only one post so i recomend you to read about alexandrov by yourself

like i quite literally have never been more passionate about anything than i am about the human race’s invariable desire to tell stories and the fact that we always find a way to do it, through spoken language and written language and body language and visual art and theater and poetry and oral tradition and a million other things. there are so many things we take for granted about the human experience that we never stop to think about but i really want you to take a step back and consider how fucking amazing it is that our need to tell stories transcends all boundaries of time and geography and borders and language. it is one of very few things that is legitimately intrinsic to human nature and i will never stop being completely in awe of humanity for that.
