OPERATION: MINDCRIME SONG RANKING

A silly presentation I made to torture my roommates for my birthday ranking every Mindcrime song (including the two very questionable sequels) based on scores for musicality, lyricism, and narrative. This is peer-reviewed science right here. A definitive numerical value for how good each song is objectively. Definitely.

Lemme know where you agree or disagree with how I've scored things, and how you'd rank these songs yourself! I'd love to hear fellow breakdowns of the music. And if a hundred-slide presentation full of yapping is (understandably) too long, I've got a quick reference for the final rankings down below, compared to what I'd rank them personally based on how much I like 'em overall.

Red for Mindcrime I, blue for Mindcrime II, and green for Mindcrime III. My personal biased rankings are on the left versus the final presentation scores (the black numbers, scored out of 30) on the right, underlined when the song scored the same on both sides. If you skipped the presentation, I saved one 10-out-of-10 for the song I felt was the best in each particular category, with musicality going to Eyes of a Stranger; lyricism going to Hostage, of all songs; and narrative going to Suite Sister Mary!

For personal rankings, I'd say 1 - 17 are songs I wholeheartedly enjoy, even with whatever flaws the non-OG tracks have; 18 - 25 have merit with some hang-ups holding them back, or are guilty pleasures I can't in good conscience say are good songs however much I like them; 26 - 33 are boring or would-be good songs burdened by extremely questionable musical decisions; and 34 and below are just awful. Don't hit me with bricks for the top 14 not all being Mindcrime I, please, I'm biased toward songs I can sing along to -

InsNe that dishwashers are more efficient and easier than just washing them manually but they also use less water. It’s a win win situation

Made this post about 15 minutes after the repair guy who fixed the pump on my dishwasher packed up his tools and left, as the dishwasher was whirring along doing my dishes from that morning.

He said the exact same thing, which I did not know before that, so spreading this knowledge.
